Freedom Concert, August 15, 2009

A beautiful sunny August day, hot, but not sweltering.  Rob had a ticket this year but due to work constraints couldn't make it.  So he transferred his ticket to Pam.  I met Pam at her place in Jackson, a few miles from Six Flags.  We had some beers and played guitar with her roommate Kathy for a while and by the time we got there had no time for rides.  We met John and Debbie at a pub in the park and went right to the line.  Very slow getting in and they had some color-coding scheme that put us behind the stage.  The sound was awful and the view sucked.  So Pam and I went and had some beers outside the stadium.  When we got back they had fixed the sound but the view still sucked.  So, we went up and stood in the aisle by the entrance and had a great view and a great time!  I only took a few still pictures.  Performers were Charlie Daniels, Billy Ray Cyrus and others.  We waited in the parking lot 'til it was clear, but the highway was still jammed.  So we waited in a bar for that.  Back to Pam's for more beers and guitar (Kathy was still up and partying) and headed back to Mahwah at 4:00 AM.
