March on Washington, September 12, 2010 It was wet at the meetup in Paramus and a lot of rain on the bus ride down to DC. Our Tea Party group had two buses and ours broke down around Turnpike exit 4, I think. Why didn't I take some pictures while we were waiting for a replacement bus? I don't know. What a dope! The rally was scheduled to start at 2:00 and we didn't get there too much later than that. The rain had stopped and it was just overcast with some sun breaking out later. I am a much better partier than Tea Partier when it comes down to it and had some beers with some new friends during the rally. So, I missed a few speakers. My estimate of turnout - 80,000, using my Mile High Stadium method. I think that the Glenn Beck rally two weeks earlier drained many potential attendees. There are only so many trips you can take far from home when you are a normal American with job and family. If the two events could have been concurrent, it may have been an all-timer. Had a great time and am very glad to spend a day with so many great Americans! |
