DC Rally Against Government Health Care Takeover, November 5, 2009 With 3 day's notice, those Americans aware of the Government's motivation for "Health Care Reform" converged on the Capitol steps by the thousands in a last ditch effort to convince wavering congressmen to reject the government takeover of one sixth of the economy - the medical industry. It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day. About 60 speakers gave very short, impassioned paeans to liberty and against bureaucracy in 90 minutes. Then, we all converged on the House office buildings to implore our own congress critters to stand firm against this Socialist monstrosity. On the way home we heard about the inevitable result of the American people's decision to retreat to the fantasy world or pre-9/11 ignorance of the threat of Islamo-Nazism. 12 of our precious soldiers (now 13) were sacrificed on the alter of political correctness in the first terrorist attack on American soil since we traded the alerted stance of Bush and Cheney for the appeaser position of our first Islamo-sympathizer president, Barack Hussein Obama. Our efforts in Washington on this day also failed, as the "health care" bill was passed the following Saturday night. These events drained me of enthusiasm for a few days. But, 6 days later, I have rallied and put up this page to document our efforts. The world needs to know that in this dark hour for America and the experiment of freedom that she represents, some stood up and attempted, through their own expense, and the ridicule and scorn of family, friends, acquaintances and the Fascist media, to thwart this radical administration and the Democrat-Socialist legislature from turning our nation into a third-world shithole of serfdom and terror. So, here are the photos and videos of this last stand for individual liberty, free market capitalism and limited government that has brought so much light to so many all over the Earth for 230 years. Note the joy and optimism. Note the absence of tear gas, billy clubs and bullets. This may be one of the last expressions of the right to assemble and petition that we will be seeing for a long while.
