Woodstock Run, July 13, 2008

I was waiting for Steve at the beginning of Route 5 above Greenwood Lake when Garrett showed up.  Steve had to switch batteries at home, so we got started a little late.  Then, we had two time-consuming detours.  The cops flagged us off to side roads, first between Greenwood Lake and Monroe, and again around Marbletown.  Steve somehow got us there on time.  This year, for the group ride, we didn't head north through town but went south, across Ashokan Reservoir, through Peekamoose Valley and down to Rondout Reservoir.   We had lunch in Grahamsville at Brooks Chestnut Wood.  It was make-your-own sandwiches and chile.  Garrett and I were done for the day and headed out to route 17 via route 55 along the length of the reservoir and then route 209.  Steve took the scenic route through Port Jervis.  We stopped for beers at Rhodes in Sloatsburg and then home - 250 miles.
