Marc posted a link to the transcript of Meet the Press
where Gingrich, Buchanan and Graham were interviewed about their views on the
war. All smart guys. Good stuff.
Newt harped on a particular point that I have heard him speak about before. In
his and other neo con's attempts to link Iraq with terrorism and by association
to 911 he said "imagine a world in which Saddam Hussein was still paying $25,000
per suicide bomber".
OK OK Lets take this on face value as a fact. I know some
of you would rather not as this is only something that someone in the state
department said and never showed evidence of. Forget about anything that might
have given someone under the guise of "intelligence". We all know how good that
information is. It's not as though there were canceled checks to trace, but lets
give it to Newt as a cold hard fact.
Saddam paid 25K to the families of suicide bombers
to show he was an Arab in solidarity with his more religious brothers.
Ok so you have to take as a fact that Saddam has been in a jail cell since before Christmas.
Now follow me here...we're almost home.
If he was a menace tied to fostering terrorist acts by paying a bounty of $25,000 per act, and he can't be doing that now since before Christmas, then why is it a fact that terrorist acts (suicide bombings) are up by a factor of 10.
How can this be and more important, how can you feel safer now that Saddam is in jail while Osama is getting a massage somewhere along the Pakistan, Afghanistan border.

A factor of 10? What does this mean please? 10 times more incidents? 10 times more individual killers? 10 times more victims? Any particular geographic location? What? Or, did you just make it up? Please elucidate. If you see this and offer no other response, answer this. Where did you derive “factor of 10?”
Since Saddam was funding Palestinian fascist bombings specifically, please give me the stats on attacks in Israel that support the "factor of 10" spin. I believe they are down dramatically.
If you refer to America, the suicide attacks are down 100 percent. They have become non-existent since Saddam was captured.
If you refer to Iraq, please take into account the daily murders and tortures, mass murders and genocide that took place under the Saddam regime in your “mathematics.”
We know that the Saddam/UN Oil For Food program funded al Qaeda to the tune of half-a-trillion dollars. Do you imagine that this little financial setback has made the civilized world a wee bit safer? Read a book for a change! Get away from PBS, CNN and Michael Moore! Read, "The Connection", "The War On America", "Janes Intelligence Digest", "Bin Laden, The Man Who Declared War On America", "American Jihad", and on-and-on.
But you don't give a shit about the facts! You care about one thing and one thing only. The defeat and destruction of America.
Suck on the tit of your Islamo-Fascist buddies. We WILL
defeat you. You are a future cinder in the dustbin of history. The civilized
world will win. Then your successors can sit in their little pit of self-pity
praying for the next big movement to wipe out humanity. It will come along just
as Nazism, Communism and the repeated attacks of Islam over the last 1300 years
have. And, you and your ilk will criticize, pooh-pooh, offer lofty fantastical
utopian alternatives to fighting evil and cower and appease in the cause of
sapping the will of good people to win. But, freedom will out and you and your
varied totalitarian ideas will, bit-by-bit, defeat-by-defeat give way to life
and human liberty as the current state of the world, compared to the past,
attests . Though you may win battles along the way, the march of liberty is
inexorable. You will lose.

You've made an important distinction. It would be kind of tough to enjoy the
money after you've blown yourself to smithereens.
You think those 72 virgins require payment?
(Don't we all pay in some way?)

Does it not occur to you that a person living hopelessly in a brutal totalitarian state might be inclined to "blow himself to smithereens" knowing that his children will be enriched? Isn't this the human inclination that has caused the suicide exception in life insurance policies?
You know this, thought it, and discarded it before you posted. try not to be so obviously disingenuous.
