Prior Verbal Co-option

We cannot acknowledge that Islam is satanic because they called us, "The Great Satan", first. To call them satanic would make us the same as them. The term has been co-opted.
If a person comes into our home and ties us up and proceeds to gather up all of our money, jewelery, TVs and computers, and every few minutes, he comes into the room and wags his finger at us and says, "You bad burglars, very very bad rotten burglars!", and then he murders our children, and comes in and says, "You murdering scum, lousy stinking homicidal maniacs!", we could never testify against this person, because to call him a burglar and a murderer would make us just like him. Besides, it's too late, he called us those things first. Any term, once used, can never be used against the person who first uttered it. The perfect defense has been created. All his supporters, (or your detractors), need do is say, "Well, he said the same thing about you first, so who's to say which of you is correct, or maybe you're both guilty, and so, of course, no one is.
If a man plans to roll in pigshit, and wear a propeller beanie while singing Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds off-key, he can immunize himself from criticism by calling everybody a pigshit-smelling, off-key Lucy- singing propeller head. Then, he can indulge himself and no leftie, anti-American, multiculurlist, dumbed-down-diversity-dork, moral- equivalency-eunuch will be able to smell, see or hear his offenses. A normal person will say, "Man, what a lousy singer, and he stinks too." And the leftie, having been neutralized by prior vocal co-option, will say, "Well that's really true of everybody if you think about it." The bizarre thing is, to him it will really be true! His senses will actually have been rendered incapable of seeing, hearing and smelling the truth.
