The Stupid Accusation of, "Divisiveness"

I was reminded today of a familiar tactic of Leftist debate. On my drive home, I heard a liberal charge Sean Hannity with that old canard of, “being divisive.” This is really as funny as it is pathetic.
I guess it’s not divisive when the Left proposes extreme, radical ideas like same-sex marriage. It’s only divisive when normal people attempt to preserve natural conventions as old as human history.
It’s not divisive when the Left, after hundreds of years of abortion being considered an abomination, adopts the dismemberment of human babies as an untouchable sacrament. But, it’s just tearing the country apart when someone proposes that you at least refrain from this barbarism as the baby is actually being born.
When an American congressman accuses our soldiers of being Nazis, while we are at war; oh no, no divisiveness there. But, if you point out that the congressman has probably committed treason, how dare you divide the country!
Accusing the president of lying in a state of the union address can not possibly cause any angst anywhere, right? But if a normal American points out that the accuser’s own report contradicts his vicious, obviously partisan attack, how dare you strike a blow against our national harmony!
Presenting forged documents on a popular media broadcast to discredit a presidential candidate, on the eve of the election, is just fine. This could not possibly divide anybody. Pointing out the obvious forgery though is just so polarizing!
It’s not divisive to teach elementary school children “safe” sodomy and acceptance of every kind of sick, deviant behavior in secret, behind their parents' backs, but openly displaying a bible verse condemning those behaviors is just stirring up mean-spirited controversy!
In a nation founded on Christianity, where the citizens are 85% Christian, liberals cannot imagine that it would raise any conflict to attack every public display or acknowledgement of this fact. But mention Jesus at a commencement speech and you are offending, minimalizing, ostracizing, silencing, ethno-centracizing, hate-speechifying and dividing! dividing! dividing!
The lengths to which the Left will go to stifle debate is only astounding if you are not aware that their wacky ideology is bereft of any actual argument. Shutting down the rational side of the debate is their only tactic.
If Hitler was a leftist, he would have accused the Allies of being divisive. (Bad example, he was a Leftist and I’m sure that if he had lived, he would have tried to make the case!)
The accusation of divisiveness is simply a way for the Left to say, “We can say all the crazy things we want, and introduce any destructive policies, and hurl the vilest accusations against our opponents, and even betray our country, over and over in the most blatant and obvious manner, and any defense of sanity, tried-and-true tradition, a decent person’s good name or America is out-of-bounds.”
How dare you respond to Leftist attacks and divide the country! No fair fighting back!
Dissent from the liberal dogma is just, oh, so, divisive!”
All of this “divisive” bullshit comes to you from those folks who constantly preach the holiness of dissent and tolerance.
Funny? Pathetic? Both? Depends on your mood, I guess.
