Done Talking Nice

Have you been condescendingly chided for name calling for calling someone a traitor who regularly calls President Bush a fascist?

Lately, some liberals have remarked upon my abandonment of the tactics of persuasion, argument and discussion in matters political in favor of invective, attack, ridicule and dismissal.  They whine that I will convince nobody of my point of view by anger and name-calling.

How absurdly transparent - as if liberal positions are susceptible to modification by any degree of reasonable conversation.  I would like to know of one single Leftist who has budged one millimeter since 9/11 from the position they held at that time on any subject.  Have the beheadings, suicide bombings, Madrid or London caused them to reconsider their alliance with Islamo-fascism or to lean the least little bit toward the survival of western civilization?  Has their hatred for G.W. Bush diminished the tiniest bit?  Have they conceded that maybe Saddam did have WMD, or at least that the president didn’t purposely lie to advance the neo-con agenda for world conquest?  Did any reasoned imparting of truth cause one single liberal who voted for Al Gore in 2000 to reject John Kerry in 2004?  Has one single liberal who voted for John Kerry in 2004 recoiled in horror at the vile treason of Durbin, Murtha, Kennedy or Gore?  At this late stage, they try to make me believe that some polite words can still bring them around.

No.  As with the devotees of any faith-based dogma, the Marxo-liberal acolyte’s delusions only become more entrenched with polite fact-based refutation.  In fact, as you attempt, utterly in vain, to bring these poor, wretched, brainwashed fools around to common sense and defense of liberty and decency, wasting your time and energy on words, they are actively undermining America and the West.

While you talk, they circulate petitions.  While you cajole, they demonstrate.  While you write letters to the editor, they are bringing another lawsuit to shut you up.

They laugh their asses off while betraying top secret operations against the enemy.  Why the mirth?  Because we sit there talking.  What fools they must think us.

4-and-a-half years after 9/11, no member of the hate-America Left has moved one iota toward sanity.  In fact, the positions of the two sides, for and against America, capitalism and modern civilization, have become hardened.  Who could believe that after this interminable national dialogue, during which not one single liberal has moved toward the right, that suddenly a little more reasoned debate will have any effect?

The time for polite talk is long past.  It is time to recognize these neighbors, co-workers, acquaintances and the wacko stranger on the street as disease carriers.  It is time to shun them.  It is time to name them for what they are.  It is time for demonization, marginalization, ostracizing, ineffectualizing.  Just as you would isolate any virulent disease, they must be exposed and quarantined.  Harass them.  Ridicule, vilify and belittle them. 

And, name call, name call, name call!  Never stop naming them for the dangerous, seditious vermin that they are.  When you hear someone say, “Blood for oil”, or “domestic spying”, call them a traitor and terrorist collaborator right to their face. 

You cannot defeat what you cannot name.  Names work.  After a while the names stick.  After a while a normal, uninfected person will be uneasy standing next to an ACLU lawyer.  Who would want a traitorous journalist at their holiday party?  Any word spoken about torture, WMD, Halliburton, PNAC, neo-cons, Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, etc. etc. etc… will be met with nervousness and distaste. 

After a while, the arrogant idiot will begin to avoid calling Bush a Nazi in your presence.  When they realize that you will deny them the pleasure of the polite, defensive dialectic that amused them so before, and will instead deliver scathing, demeaning calumny, the fun will be gone.  The natural human desire to avoid conflict and to have your ideas accepted will take over.  They will shut up.

They will become afraid to speak.  They will begin to fear for their jobs and social standing.  They will fear who may be listening.  Sure, they may gather in little groups in basements and damn America to hell, but consider how much their effectiveness at giving aid and comfort to the enemy while demoralizing our forces will be eroded.

So, let the arguing end and the demonization begin!
