The Truth about Vietnam

 

I often find it puzzling that the Left in our country keeps invoking the name of Vietnam whenever there is any kind of battle or war started by a Republican president.  Why is that puzzling?  Because, Vietnam was a huge disaster for the Left, so it seems ironic that the Left would keep reminding us of it.  Let me point out a few facts, and straighten out some myths perpetrated by the Left in order to solve this riddle.

 

1.                  It was a Democrat president (Kennedy) that got us into Vietnam in the first place.  Why?  To help out, of all people, the French.

 

2.                  Every single engagement in Vietnam was won by America, bar none. 

 

3.                  The Tet Offensive, contrary to Leftist propaganda, was a huge success for America and all but won the war for us.

 

So why are the last two points a disaster for the Left?  Because, as their name implies, the Left are, and have always been, pro-communist and dead set on making America look like losers to the world and embarrassing us in any way they can.  Now, let me continue with a few more facts pertaining to what happened after the Tet Offensive.

 

4.                  The North Vietnamese were about to surrender, but the treasonous John Kerry, along with Jane Fonda and their ilk, encouraged the North Vietnamese to keep up at least the semblance of fighting by infiltrating South Vietnam and committing terrorist acts.  Meanwhile, Kerry paraded phony soldiers before Congress accusing our military of committing all kinds of heinous acts in Vietnam.  Their goal was to further discourage American citizens and pressure out government into snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.  It worked.

 

5.                  I can remember at the time the Left promulgating the notion that that part of the world would be better off under Communism.  So, after our surrender to the losers in Vietnam, Congress pulled our funding of the South Vietnamese out from under them, allowing the whole area to fall under Communist rule.  So, how was Vietnam under Communism?

 

6.                  Our defeat and the Communist takeover opened the way for Pol Pot to come to power, and, in the typical fashion of Communists everywhere, proceeded to do what all Communist leaders do ? began the mass slaughtering of millions of innocent men, women, and children in the effort to create a more perfect society.  All this blood is directly on the hands of the Left in our country.

 

Whew, no wonder the world hates America (if indeed they do ? why do they keep trying to come here?).  To the world, America looks like one country, in the same way we see other countries, such as France for example, as one country.  I?m sure that not all France consists of hairy women and fairy men, but that is how they appear to us.  So to the rest of the world, we look like fair weather friends, people who commit to a cause and then drop it when the going gets tough.  However, that is only one side of America ? the Left.

 

Back to the original question of why the Left keeps invoking the name of Vietnam, we now have an answer.  Because this was such a huge disaster for them, they are trying to make Vietnam look like a disaster for America, rather than for them!  It is their same old game plan of repeating a lie long enough that people begin to believe it.

 

Let us not forget, the Left in our country want America to lose and look bad to the rest of the world.  This accomplishes both their purposes.  One, to bring America down to the level of most other countries and two, to set themselves up as the only ones that can save America from certain doom (of their own creation), thus ensuring on-going power and wealth for themselves.

 

Finally, the Left are trying to accomplish in Iraq the same results they accomplished in Vietnam.  Vietnam would have ended far sooner, and the war in Iraq would have been history by now, if the Left did not continuously encourage our enemies to fight on despite what looks like sure military defeat for them.  The Left hates our military, because our military always ensures victories for America.  But, what they cannot win militarily, they try to win politically by encouraging our enemies and discouraging Americans.
