Why is it such a big mystery that there is a tremendous problem with
crime in the young generation? Everybody has their scapegoats -
violence on TV or in video games, rap music, lack of moral training
in the schools and on and on...

The answer is so plain it's absurd. We have worked very hard for the
last 30 years to create the exact situation that we see today. We
have done this with our justice system, our lack of immigration controls
and our social programs among other moronic policies.

What is a youngster supposed to think when he sees someone commit murder
or armed robbery and then sees that same person back in the neighborhood
2 or 3 years later? He thinks that society doesn't consider murder such
a big deal. Especially when he sees another kid go to prison for 5 or
10 years for selling an herb that grows wild all over the world. Our
justice system has cheapened life.

What makes anything cheaper than an overabundance? Yet we allow
hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to swarm over our borders
every year. Like locusts they consume our educational and health
resources. They pack our inner cities where gangs flourish. Is it
any surprise that the problems of gang crime first became evident in
California? If any animal is packed into a certain space beyond
limits that are predetermined by nature, an unatural increase in
murder takes place. Surprise! Works with Humans too!

What kind of value system can a child be expected to have when his
parents, and his grandparents never worked a day? They just picked
up a free check from 'the government' once a month. And were rewarded
with a bigger check for increased breeding. Is this child supposed
to have any concept of self-worth. Is he supposed to believe anything
other than 'the world owes me a living'.

We've done this to ourselves and no amount of moaning about TV
and music is going to fix it. The sad thing is, the same people who
got us here are the ones we're looking at to get us out, the
politicians and social manipulators.

09/08/94
Another good citizen whining that we don,t have freedom in America
because there is yet one more thing that the government doesn't give
us - health care. I wish people would realize what happens when the
government gives us something. They take our
taxes, filter them through their pals, cronies and pork projects, and
then run them through absurd inefficient bureaucracies, and dole what's
left out to illegals, deadbeats and drug addicts. If you want health
insurance, take your hard-earned out to the market and get it yourself.
If you can't do that, go without.

11/10/94
Editor,

Some election reflection. The smoker's tax did not fail because of the
tobacco interests' money expenditures. This election has proven that our
votes aren't for sale. It failed because it's a bad idea to pick out
a specific group for taxation based on behavior. Each voter has to
ask, "Will some behavior of mine come next?" The answer - of course it
will. If smoking causes greater health expense, then put the cost where
it belongs; on the smoker's health insurance premium. Or perhaps the
smoker could waive coverage for smoking related diseases. If a person
doesn't have health insurance and cannot afford the drastic and
prolonged measures required for lung cancer treatment, you make their
death as comfortable as possible. Non-smokers should certainly not
have to bear the cost of smoker's health problems but the problem
will not be solved by allowing some shadowy comission to redistribute
revenue from tobacco sales. It will be solved when the individual is
accountable for the results of his or her own choices.

Why did ammendment 18 fail? I assume the folks who voted against
this common-sense ammendment are not the same people who bemoan the fact
of children having children since they have voted to continue to
subsidize this behavior.

What on earth made Douglas Bruce think that a majority of voters would
favor every part of his multi-ammendent? Some parts made good sense,
some were absurd but you couldn't vote for just parts of it so you had
to vote no.

Mexico is angry with California because it refuses to continue to provide
free food, clothing, education and health care to Mexican citizens.
I think this proves that if you give something valuable away for free
it loses its value. People begin to believe it's a natural right like
breathing. Congratulations to California for discontinuing the
subsidizing of illegal immigration.

Overall, the election returns make me proud to be a member of the
electorate of Colorado and the United States.

Some reflection on our boys in orange and blue, often black and
blue to the tune of American Pie:

Not so very long ago
I can still remember how we used to see Wade Phillips grin
He assured us that we had a shot
With all the talent that we got
And our comeback king would engineer the win
But the Chargers caused our hopes to crumble
With a pass more like a fumble
Faint hope again had lured us
A last minute win assured us
But that hope suddenly fled
As Junior Seau inter cepted
And the comeback king just hung his head
Fifteen
More games
Ahead

And we were singing
Mile High just one game has gone by
With the talent we got the super bowl we can try
It's just a young team except the three old guys
Singin this'll be the season to fly
This'll be the season to fly

Tried it, tied it at least we didn't buy it
It looked like a coin toss would decide it
John called heads and it came up tails
As the Jets moved into field goal range
They didn't need the first down chains
They walked right down and booted in the win
The next week the Raiders payed a call
They never let us have the ball
We're up against an oh and three wall
Just three
Games down
That's all

And we were singin
Mile High just three games have been slow
There's no way that we can lose four in a row
We'll get it all together in Buffalo
Singing now we're really ready to go
Now we're really ready to go

Now there we were all in last place
To lose again would be a disgrace
With grit and determination
At the end of regulation
Johnny saw Tillman open in the endzone
And hurled the ball into the ozone
Another comeback slipped and we go home
Down now
Four to
None.

And we were singin bye bye thank god we have a bye
A week off will get us ready to try
To beat Seattle and then justify
Wade's faith in the comeback guy
Wade's faith in the comeback guy

The team went to Seattle with plenty of hope
Wade gave each player a small piece of rope
To tie the team together
Or to make a hangman's tether
Well they pulled together and they played real well
Looked more like winners than losers from hell
Kept some playoff hope for sure
Their rec-
ord one
and four

And we were singin
Mile High will host the KC bums
The Chiefs can't win in Mile High Stadium
We're ready for Montana so just let 'im come
Singin now that we have finally won
Now that we have finally won

Kansas City showed up and look what they did
We pinned our hopes on the comeback kid
Yeah Elway always comes through with a last minute show
But this time as the clock ticked down
With the Chiefs in Denver town
The comeback kid's name wasn't John it was Joe
Inside of those mile high bricks
Our defense must have run out of tricks
Montana's pass put us in a fix
Lookin
Bad after
Six

We started singin
Maybe we're not really as good as we say
It sure ain't showing in the way that we play
Our chances are the same as opening DIA
When they're handing out the super bowl rings
We'll be watching two other teams

Now Wade began to sing the blues
We're glad that we're not in his shoes
Thank god we put the Browns away
The Chargers started to come from behind
We injured Humphries just in time
Then Simon did the same for Testeverde
Now we'd won three in a row
Elway's remembring how to throw
Millers learned his timing
Wade once again is smiling
And the season we thought was a joke
Some hope it seems now to evoke
As long as Johnny doesn't choke
The play-
off hope's
Alive

Then a loss Rammed down our throat
But the Falcon's couldn't get our goat
The referee's call unfounded
Said Jeffery intentionally grounded
The Chiefs this time they said oh no
We have to play with Steve Bono
As comeback Joe stood grimly on the side
The Raiders wouldn't allow 1 yard
As 5 times we tried real hard
And after the 49ers we just sat right down and criiii-ied
Next week we'll have to see the Saints
Although contenders we ain't
And then we'll just spectate
On games
In some other
State

And now we're singin
Next year will see us again
Walkin through the season win after win
As we see a brand new coach grin
It will finally be a super bowl win
Yeah finally a super bowl win

Dear sir,
I have to respond to your editorial, Mad-Madder. I feel you are
mistaken in your perception of voter intent in the last election, why
voters are mad, and many of the statements you made to support
your solution of giving private industry billions of our tax dollars.

First, work and hope were never a right. The people who made this
country what it used to be were independent strong willed individuals
who sweated and busted butt to achieve the great things that symbolized
American ingenuity and success. I doubt very much that they spent a
lot of time whining about rights or worrying about who had the
better entitlements. And I'm sure there has always been plenty of
despair to go around among the less fortunate.

I don't know what period of time you're referring to when everybody had
a great job with opportunity for advancement. I suspect that the balance
between those who did and those who just survived is probably better
today in America than it has ever been. Ever hear of sweat shops, the
mineworkers or child labor. Do you think the great industrialists
were more nurturing and concerned for their workers than today's
CEOs. I suspect the worker has a better chance to address grievances
with an employer today than ever before.

The foundations of our working lives that are being destroyed are
personal responsibilty and the work ethic. This is what motivated
our vote. We are sick of turning our hard earned dollars over to
the government so they can give it away to alcholics, drug addicts,
people who have no concept of the idea of work, a system that
perpetuates indolence, a system that rewards irresponsible breeding,
people who are in this country illegally and evil dirt-bag nations
like North Korea to name a few.

We're fed up with a government that absolutely refuses to consider
that the peoples' resources are limited and we cannot finance an
ever expanding national debt that will give our children no chance
at the wonderful life we enjoy. The election said we are not a
nation of sheep begging at the entitlement trough. The majority of
the people in this country are responsible hard working folks who
just want to keep what they earn and allow others to do the same.

If there is a loss of pride in the work we do it's because it no
longer counts to do a good job. What counts is your color or gender,
or how scared the boss is of the particular victim category you
happen to fall into.

It seems you put a great deal of blame on corporate downsizing for
the troubles of society. I think we could look much deeper for the
root causes of the challenges we face today. It is not business's
job to benevolently provide jobs. It's business's job to make a
profit. Period. It always has been and it always will be. And
if the companies in our country are doing that well, it's good
for everybody. I know many people who have been laid-off or
downsized and absolutely every one of them found work quickly at
better pay!

Personally, I don't want the government to give billions of my dollars
to private industry to provide jobs that they don't need. It sounds
like a nightmare. In order to get government money and not be taxed
more heavily, a business would be encouraged to hire unnecessary
workers. What will happen to the value of the employee who is
actually working. How will he feel about all these people hanging
around. The work ethic becomes even more devalued and production
is negatively influenced. This suggestion, in which I can detect no
satire, proves you to be an idiot, or a socialist, which is of course
the same thing.

I happen to be very optimistic about the future of this country and
I don't think I'm in the minority. The '94 election shows that we care
and perhaps can change things.

I'm a computer programmer and we just experienced a 5% reduction in
force at the large company where I work. Some folks that sat right
next to me are gone. There was an equal chance that it could have
been me. But when business was booming last year, we were hiring
like crazy. I'm sure that when we have a slow period, some other
company will be hiring. That is the nature of business and to
compete with the rest of the world in this global economy, a business
has to acknowledge that fact by having an ebb and flo of employee
numbers. And we learned in the past two decades that we had better
be competitive with the rest of the world.

Well, this is pretty long. Just wanted to share one man's opinion.

Thank you,

Here are some more ticks scurrying to the vein. The Rodriquez family
figures to pick up some quick cash because their alcholic father
drank himself into a stupor, got into his car and slammed into a post
doing 70 MPH. There is one person at fault for this death - Alfredo
Rodriquez Sr. Alcohol is a substance legally available to anyone over
the age of 21. Coors is a brewery supplying that legal substance. If
an adult chooses to act like an idiot, anything resulting from that
action is his responsibility and his alone. People who bring suits
of this nature are the leeches sucking the lifeblood from this once
proud nation.

Editor,
The letter from Rose and Allen Maruyama on March 27, ("Government should
not take from the poor when others could give"), displays a basic
misunderstanding of taxation and entitlements. When they speak of
taking from the poor what they are actually talking about is giving less.
There seems to be a belief that certain groups have a right to free
housing, food and money simply because they have been receiving it for
so long. We are not taking anything from the poor. The only people
being robbed are the taxpayers.

Editor,
Molly Ivins is an idiot. I hope you are publishing her nonsense as a
joke. Her moronic grin needs only a big red clown nose to be a poster
child to portray the bumbling, stumbling, pie-in-the-face policies
of her liberal ringmasters.

I can almost taste the cotton candy and smell the elephant droppings as
she attempts to malign everything the Republicans have accomplished
in their 1st hundred days while unknowingly showering them with praise.

Six times she critizes program cuts. What the heck is a program? Who
invented this criminal redistribution of the citizens' money? Where
in the constitution is there anything anywhere about programs? Thank
you Republican congress for each and every program cut.

She critizes reduced taxes. Need I say more.

She critizes increased spending on prisons and more broad use of the
death penalty. Does she read anything in the paper besides her own
sappy drivel? Thank you Republicans again. Increased military
spending - thank you. Cut money for 'public broadcasting' - thank you.

And thank you Molly Ivins for enumerating all the good necessary things
that are finally being accomplished in Washington.

Editor,
As Congress attempts to undo damaging laws and regulations put into
place by strident social manipulators over the last 30 years, others
are working just as furiously enacting new ones (04/06/95, "VOTE
APPROVES PLAN TO REGULATE KID'S TV").

The story says that "the Federal Communications Commission amid
pressure from public interest groups voted 5 to 0" to approve this plan.
Who are these 'public interest groups'? Who elected them? How do
they represent the people? How do they differ from special interest
groups? What is the nature of their 'pressure' that can cause intrusive
regulations to be enacted against those of us who have better things to
do with our days than push some obscure special agenda on some
beauracrats who obviously have too much time on THEIR hands?

Any law enacted at the insistence of social activists or 'public
interest groups' to correct a perceived social, health, economic,
racial or moral problem will invariably have the exact opposite
effect of that intended. You will also find that these laws provide
rich opportunity for corruption by enterprising individuals. Usually
some of those who pushed for the law in the first place are the same
ones who are enriched. These screaming, fist shaking, rabble-
rousing busybodies are a tiny percentage of the millions of citizens
who go quietly about their business day by day. These people should
be politely but firmly ignored by those empowered to make laws and
regulations that affect all Americans.

Editor,
Let's cut the crap about welfare reform and quit tippytoeing around
this issue. It is not my duty, obligation or responsibility as an
American citizen to provide housing, free lunches, health care, art,
TV and radio programming or cable TV to anybody anywhere in my city,
my state, my country, in Mogadishu, Bangladesh, Bosnia or the republics
of Russia. I will not be happy until all forms of welfare are totally
ended and declared illegal.

Let the unfortunates of this world be cared for by family, friends and
private charities. When this was the case, there was some sort of
stigma and shame applied to those who had babies out of wedlock or
refused to go to work or who walked out on their wife and children.
Now, who cares, some magical mystical social program takes care of
everybody.

When I am allowed to choose which charities will get my support, you
can bet that not one dime will go to drug addicts, alcholics, people
who breed irresponsibly with no ability to care for their progeny and
able-bodied individuals who prefer sitting around on the dole to getting
out and working for a living. Those people can deservedly starve on the
street or beg crumbs. Every free society will always have these misfits
and the attempt to alleviate their self-inflicted suffering has been an
exercise in futility resulting in worse than failure. It has increased
the incidence of all of these problems by subsidizing and legitimizing
them.

Editor,

Two wrongs never make a right. The end does not always justify the
means, especially when the means will never achieve the desired end.
I am convinced that if we had just accepted the Civil Rights Act
and equal protection and refrained from such ludicrous social
experiments as school busing and affirmative action, blacks would
be considerably farther ahead in achieving educational and economical
equality than they have actually achieved. The vile stupidity of
racism has been ingrained into our society since it's inception and
will only fade away over time, not by moronic laws put into effect by
well-meaning social manipulators.

Congratulations to the Supreme Court for a sensible and rational
decision. I am however disturbed by the closeness of the vote.

Editor,
I always thought that Molly Ivins was airborne but in her latest
diatribe against the new congress she has really left the planet.
She is once again raving about the 'gap', some perceived disparity
between the rich and the poor. In an attack on the Republican
congress, she cites studies that indicate that this gap has been
steadily growing for the last 15 years. Even if such a gap could be
measured in any meaningful way (this gap is her own interpretation
of economic distribution studies), and even if such a gap was reason
for alarm (it is exactly what you would expect in a free society),
it is the liberal welfare state that has been running things this
whole time. The Republicans just got here. Those reforms that
have been enacted so far have not been in place long enough to have
any dramatic effect, let alone a retroactive effect going back 15 years!

According to Ivins, this Gap "has an UNKNOWABLE effect on this country
in terms of COHESION and SOCIAL UNITY." Are we to set policy that will
directly affect the lives of millions on a dubious fact that has
an impossible-to-know effect on such nebulous concepts as cohesion and
social unity? Don't we have some slightly weightier issues to address,
issues that can be measured, issues that have a definite known impact,
issues such as the national debt, crime, and unwed teen mothers?

Why do we put up with these idiotic distractions by airheads like Ivins
when there is real work to be done on real problems?

Ms. Carnahan,
I believe your column is the most valuable element in the mainstream
print media in Colorado today. It's is so delightful to find one
newspaper and one person who give a damn about the waste and
corruption that has been allowed to slimily slide by the public's
notice for so many years.

I saw a headline on page 36A of the 12/14 Rocky that reads "Stepfather
charged with 1st-degree murder." I couldn't help thinking that it
should have read "Released murderer strikes again." I am sure you get
hundreds of suggestions for column topics but here's another. I would
like to see the people responsible for this murder see some
accountability. Who are these people that would set a phsycho piece
of phleghem like this loose on the world AFTER HE HAD ALREADY BEEN
CAPTURED? How do they live with themselves? How do they justify
their actions. I can see them sitting around talking. "Oops and
shucky darn. I guess we goofed on that one. Ha ha. Oh well, who
would have thought that a feller that stabbed a woman to death wouldn't
have learned his lesson after 8 whole long years in jail?" "Yeah Clem,
now how 'bout this yere serial baby rapist? He's been in two years
now and says he's real sorry. And anyway, all our kids live in
security communities. Ha ha."

I would really love to learn about the procedures that lead to these
absolutely horrifying events in our society.

Thanks for your work.

Rocky Mountain News - 5/26/96 - pg 47a - "Mental ills plan faces
obstacles."

Facts:
The provision is to force insurers to cover mental illness as fully
as physical ailments.

Provision passed by the Senate (68 - 30), would require that health
insurance policies that cover mental illness deal with them the same
way they deal with physical ailments (would have to be as free of
limits such as controls on outpatient visits or days of treatment as
physical health coverage).

Proponents say the monthly cost would be nickles per employee.

What I say:
How can government mandate what an insurer must cover and how it must
be covered? Aren't insurers private companies? And if not, why?

How can mental health be covered in exactly the same way as physical
health? Except for a few mental health problems that can be treated
with chemicals (so they say), most mental problems are the result of
an impossible to determine set of genetic and environmental conditions
and circumstances whereas most physical ailments have a known set of
treatments, recovery periods and prognoses. In addition to that,
there isn't enough known about the mind to reasonably predict
recovery times or cost for mental illness.

What would constitute mental illness? We know how well-meaning,
government-mandated programs creep out of control while we're not
looking. I was shocked when I learned that illegal immigrants are
entitled to welfare and that SSI checks were going to alcholics and
drug addicts. I have no doubt that those nickles-a-month would
quickly grow to the point where no one could afford any health
coverage because it would be illegal to provide it without also
providing mental health coverage (which will have grown to encompass
such illnesses as sadness, being an ***hole, impatience, procrastination
and every other quirk that might prevent a person from being perfect).

I don't feel that mental health coverage would be a cost-effective
item for me to be insured for. There are no mental health problems in
my family history and I don't expect to ever face it. Why should my
insuror be forced to cover me and I be forced to pay? If someone feels
they might someday require this coverage, let them go out and get the
appropiate insurance just as you would for flood insurance if you
lived on a flood plain.

If burdensome and profit-eating regulations are placed upon those
companies that currrently offer mental health coverage, what would
prevent them from dropping it? This would be the typical result of
government interference. The problem would be made much worse by
the government's solution.

This run-away government is totally out of control. They don't even
understand the concept of insurance. They seem to think that every
ill that can befall a person can be completely mitigated by mandating
insurance for everyone and everything. Where the f*** do they think
the money comes from. Obviously money is some abstract concept to
these numbnuts. They are so used to having our money to spend in
unlimited amounts on anything that comes to their tiny minds that
they don't realize they are destroying us.

Psychiatry is not a science and shrinks are quacks.

Channel 12,
I became a subscriber when you offered Rush Limbaugh after his program
was dropped by some other local station. However, your latest obnoxious
begging campaign has been the last straw. I will no longer tune in
to channel 12 no matter what. Tonight you showed some lame old man
holding up flower pots and bags of pebbles in place of Rush's valuable
programming. After sifting through endless pleas for money all week
for fragments of meaningful programming, this was just too much. I am
through with PBS.

Perhaps you might consider a 15 second spot between programs to just
explain how the programs require viewer contributions rather than
these demeaning begging marathons. I think these drives probably
turn off more potential subscribers than you might attract in other
less obnoxious ways. Be an adventurer. Please try something new.

Editor,
The 9/10 column by Marilyn Greewax (We owe for debt we've rung up)
leads to the conclusion that a tax cut would "drive up the deficit and
expand the debt." It's a very responsible, bear down and bite the
bullet conclusion. Unfortunately, everything preceding this noble
conclusion is based on false analogies rather than the slightest hint
of any knowledge of economic realities.

First, she likens taxes to a debt you owe a merchant for services
rendered. This
analogy would certainly ring true if the services were that of a
particulary venal drug dealer who constantly raised prices and reduced
quality to his helplessly addicted clients. She feels that the citizen
paying taxes is similar to the homeowner paying the mortgage. Of course
this only holds true if the mortgage holder were the only lender in the
market.

Then she likens the role between citizens and government as similar to
a family. Citizens are absolutely nothing like a family and
government is no sibling. Does she consider her merchant or mortgage
holder as a family member?

Next, she has the government as a spouse! "In a marriage, if you
hate your spouse's spending priorities, you can try to change him or her
or you can file for divorce." Well this spouse ain't only spending,
it's collecting. How about if your spouse grabbed you by the throat
every payday and took a third of your check. Some life-partner.

So it's no surprise that the conclusion she reaches about the negative
consequences of a tax cut are as laughably absurd as being married to
the government. The government is not a competitor in the marketplace
thus there is no natural constraint to what it charges for it's
services or for the balance between what it takes in and what it
spends. Like an insatiable parasite it will take as much as there is
to feed its voracious appetite. The fruit of the tree of American
labor could feed us all lavishly if only the glutton in us could
resist devouring the succulent seed and root. Respectable studies have
proven beyond a doubt that, all other things being equal, as the tax
rate passes 20 percent, the ability of those taxed to provide income to
the taxer diminishes. Not coincidently, it also increases the need
of those taxed for services provided by the taxer. Services that in
our present government, by the way, are total, absolute failures in
providing the sevices that are claimed.

I am so sick and fed up with you idiots spouting the words put into
your puppet mouths by the crooks now running the media and govt
in this country. Some moronic bitch saying something like "Oh, I
like Bill Clinton because I feel he cares about womens' issues."
We don't need a President who pretends to care about everybody's
issue. William Jefferson Clinton and his cohorts care about one
thing and that is looting this country for everything they can get
as quickly as possible. You re-elect this con-man and you give
the spree another 4 years, this country will be bankrupt. The
lawyers will have taken everything. Absolutely every claim made
by this administration of accomplishments during the last 4 years
is a lie. And nobody will hear it from the media. That's for
sure. All this administration has done is increase taxes and
empower lawyers. Nothing else. Absolutely nothing else. It reminds
me of these brain dead lamos you see on TV who have been fleeced
by some conman. "He sounded so sincere." Or "Everybody believed
him so I thought it was legit." Or how about "Such and such all
high muck-a-muck recommended him, and after taking everything from
everybody in town, they've both disappeared." If you could tell
a conman by the things he says, there wouldn't be any conmen. Look
at the things they do you ***holes.

Some elementary schools' recent actions reflect the paranoia inspired
by this non-sensical age of liberalism's political correctness/every-
body's-a-victim-except-the-white-male-oppressor philosophy. A kiss
on the cheek becomes an outrageous act of sexual harrassment, a term
that didn't even exist 20 years ago and means any interaction
between a male and a female that is initiated by the male. Why
would this create paranoia? Duh. A child gives her classmate a
Midol and is suspended for half the year under the paranoia created
by the fed's phoney bulls*** 50 year old and still worthless drug
scare. Can you blame the school for being paranoid about a lawsuit
from the parents of the girl who received this deadly substance
while under their supervision. A delightful twist has taken place
however. The girl who dispensed this foul concoction was of
one of the disadvantaged races (non-white). The school allowed
their paranoia over drugs to overshadow what should always be
the number one fear, the fear of in any way showing disfavor
toward a member of a federally protected victim's group. Now
they are being sued by the suspended girl for racial discrimination.
Ha ha. This proves that nobody can win in the new weenie world.

Editor,
The FHA plan to offer bridal registry accounts is neither sensible
or ernest (The FHA's gift to modern marriage, Oct. 10).How is it
sensible to create a brand new government program to control a huge
amount of our money. I see the exact same pyramid scheme as
the social security con game. The trust money will be spent
on socialist 'programs' to enslave greater segments of the
population, (future voters for the slavemasters), while the non-
existant money that's been contributed comes from current
'contributions'. These contributions would naturally become a
compulsory part of marriage since everyone would be aware of
the rip-off and would never join such a scheme voluntarily.
This would take care of that bothersome marriage problem
that unites people and creates the families that are such a
nuisance to those who know better than us how our lives should be run.

I imagine the programs created would be to provide free housing to
some currently adequately housed segment of the population so
they would spend their former rent money in other ways and become
dependant on the program. Then when the program is inevitably
faced with bankruptcy and cuts we can hear the shrill endless
repetitions of the new versions of such phrases as 'mean-spirited',
or 'extreme' or 'throwing millions of children into the street.'

This is all assuming that the country still exists in any organized
form by then. I believe that the current pyramid schemes that
will be perpetuated by the voters this Fall will have destroyed
America long before the FHA proposal can reach this point. But
please don't give me "sensible and ernest."

Sound far-fetched for such an innocent little plan? Wake up you
morons. This is huge. Right now anyone who wants can set up a
trust or investment plan of any kind choosing from thousands of
options providing excellent return from the marketplace. Why
would anyone trust their future or money to the government with
their record of money management. The only way is if they have no
choice and you better believe that that is the rest of the plan.

Editor,
The FHA plan to offer bridal registry accounts is neither sensible
or ernest (The FHA's gift to modern marriage, Oct. 10). Is it
sensible to give your money to the same folks who have handled
social security so well and responsibly? And is it ernest for
the FHA to set up a new slush fund to be looted to keep government's
current ponzi schemes afloat for a few more years?

You must know how this plan originated. in some meeting, someone
said, "Where in life do people spend a ton of money that we are not
yet in control of?" "Wedding gifts, yeah." Right.

Folks,
I have a requirement to fabricate some cables for my Sportster.
I have noticed that some cables have rigid stainless pieces
for sharp bends. What I would like to do is obtain some long
straight lengths of these pieces with the teflon inserts and use
my scrollwork bender to shape them to my needs. Of course I
would also need cable, sleeves, adjusters, end fittings, etc.

Do you supply these stainless lengths?

I saw an article in Hot Rod Cycles. I knew of you through clutch
parts but wasn't aware that you could help with custom cable work.

Also, how do I go about getting a catalog.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Editor,
It frightens me to see young people fall for the lies that pour
from the lips of a con-artist like Hillary Rodham Clinton. Social
Security worked for two generations of Americans before going
bankrupt. Medicare and Medicaid are heading for bankruptcy after
one generation. Poverty in America has increased since the great
war on poverty that was initiated by government. Yet these
children believe Clinton when she says the government will offer
a package of loans and tax credits for college. Don't they realize
where this money will come from? Hillary and Bill are not going
to reach into their Swiss bank accounts so you can go to college!
This money will come from your parents, friends, neighbors and
businesses. A group of useless government freeloaders will then
each take their share before generously handing it back at about
five cents on the dollar.

Day after, Nov 6, 1996

People who claim that a tax decrease will expand the deficit are liars.
And I'm sick of hearing through cutesie analogies how we got into debt
and now we have to pay for it with higher taxes. How's this for an
analogy? A moron who works for you has somehow gotten into debt so
deeply that he will never be able to get out unless he immediately
becomes a genius. This has happened even though you pay him extremely
well to do minor housekeeping duties which he performs badly. You
are paying him as much as you can possibly afford but to help him
out, you pay him more. You can get the money by selling your tools,
some land, laying off some other workers, maybe hocking some inventory.
Well you would quickly be out of business and unable to give diddly
to your idiot friend and he will have squandered all the money you
gave him anyway. Then the loan sharks show up and break his legs
and yours.

The government is not 'us', it is not a spouse, a sibling, or an
employer and any analogies based on such relationships are idiotic.

The government is a force we have created to maintain order but at
great peril. It is a powerful force that strains at its leash
indefatigably. It is a force that knows no bounds. In its desire
to protect us it will place us in a cage. In its desire to see all
citizens as content, happy, and fullfilled as can possibly be dreamed,
it will blindly plunder the very source of even the most modest dream,
making all dreams impossible. That is exactly what the ever and ever
increasing tax burden is doing.

The government is not a competitor in the marketplace thus
there is no natural constraint to what it charges for it's
services or for the balance between what it takes in and what it
spends. Like an insatiable parasite it will take as much as there is
to feed its voracious appetite. The fruit of the tree of American
labor could feed us all lavishly if only the glutton in us could
resist devouring the tempting seed and root. Respectable studies have
proven beyond a doubt that, all other things being equal, as the tax
rate passes 20 percent, the ability of those taxed to provide income to
the taxer diminishes. Not coincidentally, it also increases the need
of those taxed for services provided by the taxer. Services that in
our present government, by the way, are total, absolute failures in
providing the services that they have replaced.

Here's an analogy for ya. The lord of all the lands decides the meat
and milk he receives from the peasants isn't quite enough. He begins
to take live cows also. Of course, not being expert at caring for
livestock and having no life-or-death stake in their welfare, and
having gotten them for nothing anyway, they do not thrive. Naturally,
he cannot admit his mistake even if he is aware of it. So he hires
experts to care for the cows, although the real experts are the ones
from whom he has confiscated them. The position of expert to the
lord did not previously exist so the people hired by the lord are
people who could be spared from whatever function they had been
performing. What kind of people were performing no particularly
useful function? Astrologers? Phrenologists? Friends, relatives,
or political contributors to the lord perhaps? The experts are
expensive but what the heck, just collect more cows from the
peasants. How long do you think this will continue until there
is no milk, meat or cattle in the kingdom, only experts and dead
peasants?

As soon as the lord began taking the source of production of taxes
from the taxed, there was less actual product to be taxed. But even
before this point, the ability of the producers to produce quality
and quantity is diminished because the peasants trade milk
and meat among one another to take advantage of each other's greater
skills in different areas. When the lord takes more product than he
needs, a peasant is unable to trade with a fellow peasant to obtain
the tools needed to efficiently create his own product. However,
the lord does provide a service in the form of enforcement of laws
to create an order and sense of justice in the community and to
protect the community from outside plundering. The point at which
these services are reimbursed by the peasants at a fair price is the
optimal tax percentage, probably between 10% and 20% of the production
of the community at absolute most. Anything above this and everybody
begins to lose. The problem with this analogy as compared to our
present system is that all the useless experts are already in place
and firmly ensconced by virtue of their power to create rules and
regulations written into law that ensure the existence of their
worthless jobs. Once all the cows and farmland are gone and all of
the population is employed as useless experts to the lord, it is too
late to quickly make everybody into producers again. At that point,
the community will be taken over by a more successful community and
all the useless experts put to death.

We are not at that point yet but every day that we delay cutbacks
of useless experts such as HUD, the depts of Commerce and Education,
and all others who claim to know better than the producers how to
utilize the means of production, each day that we delay cutting
back on the tax burden, not to mention refraining from increasing
it, the ability to return to a sane compensation to government
for its services diminishes incrementally as more and more of
the former or potential producers become useless experts to the lord.

The nature of a cancer or rust or decay of any type is that it
increases exponentially as it grows. Every edge and tentacle
becomes a place for fresh new growth and so it is with the US
government since abandonment of the Constitution and the founding
principles. As the useless expert agencies grow in number, authority
and arrogance ,the destructive ability of the entire system is
increased. Education experts produce uneducated and illiterate
citizens who are unsuited to produce anything but make excellent
experts themselves because they totally believe and have had no
opportunity to ever do any actual thinking. The benevolent
housing experts use the confiscated production of the producers
to provide housing at under-market-level rates thereby driving
actual housing providers from the market, increasing the number
of people without housing and beholden to the worthless experts for
their intermittent, inadequate and formerly useless services. The
same disease applies to Commerce, the EPA, gaming authorities, drug
law enforcement agencies and on and on. They all create, increase
and exacerbate the problems (if any really existed) which they were
supposedly created to eliminate. And they all work together to
create, increase and exacerbate these problems just as all
the various forces of nature work together to disable a machine
left unoiled, neglected and ignored by those responsible for its
upkeep and benefitting from its efficient functioning. One further
example of how this moronic taxation can spiral ridiculously - the
government debt means the government must borrow. It must borrow
from the same pool that the taxpayer, the creator of wealth and jobs,
the producer of everything that makes government possible and for whom
government is supposed to exist, must borrow from. This government
competition with the taxed drives up the price of money making it
even more difficult for the taxed to pay taxes and slowing the
creation of wealth, jobs, and growth of the economy in general.

As actual producing systems are replaced by worthless agencies,
there is less and less production, and more and more need of experts,
programs and agencies to manage the unbelievable increase and
severity of problems. Overnight, there are experts attached to the
government to oversee the most mundane aspects of human activity.
Experts to forbid or approve the digging of a ditch in your yard,
to warn against drinking paint thinner and to plan your wedding
gifts. To tell you what to study in college and how many taillights
you must or must not have on your car. To tell you how much and
what kind of insurance you must carry, how you will invest for your
retirement and in exactly what manner, when and by whom you will
meet your medical needs, the width of your bathroom door, experts
to determine what groups of people it is illegal to insult in any
given week and what the punishment should be, experts to decide how
one sex should treat the other this month and what the line is
between an offense and a really bad offense. What's the difference
between offending someone and someone getting offended? Who is
responsible when someone gets offended and how will the offense be
mitigated? If someone is offended, should the offended's entire
group be compensated and how? Should all members of the offended's
group be allowed to name every natural rock formation in the
offenders State? How long will the names last, say one of the
offended's group offends somebody in that same State that belongs
to a different group. Can they rename all rocks? What if a new
rock is discovered a hundred years later. Can someone descended
from an offended person name the rock or even take it home? What
if a member of an offended group just isn't offended? What if
most members of an offended group aren't offended? Suppose only
one person of an offended group is offended let's say by the name
given to a rock by some other offended group. And suppose this
offended person is certifiably insane. Does the offense still
include all members of his or her ethnic, religious or gender group?
Maybe a new group should be formed composed of crazy-rock-
name-haters. Then a sensible schedule of compensation
to be paid by anyone giving an offensive name to a rock could be
created. Obviously, a very specialized expert will be required.

Anyway, one thing is certain, whatever the charter of an expert
agency is, it will be performed remarkably ineptly because if there
was ever a need for the function, the people who knew how to do
it are looking for work. But most likely there is absolutely no
need for the function and therefore it is impossible to do it well.
More quickly than can be imagined, the nation will wink out like a
once bright promising experiment in self-government that just didn't
work out somehow.

It will all have been made possible by the taking of taxes beyond what
is absolutely neccessary for government to function. One penny, one
100th of one percentage point above that amount and the process of
decay will inevitably begin.

When tuning the spark advance in the ignition system of an internal
combustion engine to get the maximum performance, you adjust the
spark timing to occur further and further in advance of the point
of maximum compression until the engine begins to knock. Then
turn it back a touch. It is just as simple to know when the point
of maximum return on taxes has been reached and to make adjustments.

Start with a 10 percent tax rate and increase it one percent per year.
As soon as the federal government spawns its first program,
agency, or department, or it begins to hire experts to manage
anything that was once managed by the citizens, the cities or states,
just turn taxes back a percent or two. I don't know how this was left
out of the Constitution. Maybe the founders just could not conceive
of the notion of programs and so couldn't forbid them. None of this
absurd mess would be possible anyway if the Constitution was being
honored for what's already in it.

Any elected official that is not actively working to eliminate
all government programs and departments is either incredibly
stupid or is knowingly destroying the country and impoverishing
our children. In either case, they should be taken out and shot.
Any voter that voted Democrat last night is a willing party to
this destruction. Better "mean-spirited" and "extreme" but effective
in rescuing the nation from the folly of liberalism than "caring",
and "feeling your pain" while driving the nation over a precipice.

By the way, anyone in government who says they care while supporting
any government program is lying. People who care do not steal money
to enrich their pals to support programs which are proven failures.

Welfare - poverty, teen pregnancy, crime, drug use, malnutrition, all
increased along with welfare spending.
Social Security - This fine idea worked for 1 generation before
going bankrupt.
Medicare - 1 generation
Medicaid - 0 generation

Why do minorities continue to elect democrats and liberals, the
greatest enemies to racial equality on the face of the earth. Who,
after all, gave us such equality destructive concepts as bussing,
affirmative action, cultural dciversity, self-esteem, bilingual
education and gerrymandered voting districts?

KTLK,
I listened to a mentally ill talk show host yesterday. I am sure
that he took himself seriously and thought that others did also.
This must be the height of cruelty in the world of talk radio.

I was shocked and embarrassed that anyone would find a mental
disorder amusing in this way.

The stock market is doing extremely well. I'm told invest, invest,
invest. Happy times are ahead. Why do I hold back? Perhaps
because I just can't believe anyone can actually be doing well
within a nation that is so deeply in debt that all we can do is
try to keep up with the interest. And not even being able to do
that. Clinton and all his cronies are saying that they brought
the deficit down. Number one - Clinton is a liar and nothing he
says can be trusted. Number two - what is the definition for the
word 'deficit' when used by a politician? Number three - we know
we don't have a balanced budget so how can our debt possibly be
going down? All these corporations that are doing so well seem to
me to be like a bunch of irresponsible kids in one of their friend's
parents' houses throwing a big party. They are ordering out for
pizza and beer on the parents' credit cards and partying on
furniture bought on credit in a house that is about to be
foreclosed, thinking the party will never end. They don't know
that the credit cards are maxed, the furniture store truck is on
the way and the parents aren't on vacation in Mexico, they're on
the run from the law for running a con game that has ripped off
all the partying kids' own parents. Am I the only one who sees
this? Am I wrong? If I'm not, everybody else in the world is
just deluding themselves thinking someone else is minding the
store when no one is.

How can I take advantage of everybody else's blindness to
enrich myself? Or even become King of the world, that's the question.

Thank you,

Editor,
Dan Lopp is a total idiot (Jan. 17 Speakout: Welfare reform must
emphasize humanity).
It is unfortunate for Mr. Lopp that he finds himself in this horrible
brutal country but that is his sorry fate. How much better off he
would be to live in a socialist or communist state where all his dreams
for the masses would have a chance at realization. It is also
interesting that he was able to round up 200 people to whine their
demands of how and what type of goodies should be handed out to them
for free by the taxpayers of Colorado and the US. This is like, as
Christmas approaches, the children all start marching around yelling
out what it is they must be given by their parents, pouting and
stamping their feet. Lopp and his people should be thankful to get
spit when they're thirsty. They don't rightfully deserve one
goddamned thing from anybody for anything. There is no right in the
Constitution of this country to food, housing, health care, or
anything else these greedy grubbers demand. The only thing guaranteed
to these parasites is the right to go out in public and demean
themselves and those they claim to represent with their demands for
handouts. Where were the rest of the people of the State of Colorado
while these 200 were screaming out their pathetic little cause?
They were at work to make the money that Lopp's constituents live off
of. These are the people the Colorado General Assembly should heed.
What? They weren't there? They didn't march around with signs spouting
their point of view? Is that what is required to pass legislation?
I believe we carried our signs at the polling places in November.
I pray that Lopp and his tiny cadre are totally ignored. The free-
loading socialists have had their chance at the polls and they lost.
If they rally 200 or 200,000, they should still be totally ignored if
not laughed at and made fun of by those attempting to effect real
reform.

During the last half-century, this nation has perpetrated a frenzy of
social "programs" on its innocent citizens of which welfare is easily
the most vile and corrupt. The reason these programs have all been
worse than failures is that America is not set up as a socialist
state and cannot therefore successfully administer socialist programs.
To attempt what Mr. Lopp suggests be done with welfare is akin to
having your physician come in to rewire your house. No matter how fine
a physician you have, you would be a moron to switch skills this way
with such critical functions. That is why Mr. Lopp is an idiot.
The only welfare reform that will work is the complete elimination
of welfare.
Lets look at Lopp's 5 points that he would require of welfare.
1. Ensure adequate food, housing and health care for all of Colorado's
children and for adults unable to obtain jobs that pay enough to
meet their basic needs.
Ha Ha Ha!! What's adequate mean you f***in jerk. What does this
***hole define as basic needs. When did health care become a right
anyway. I don't remember this happening.
Hey, nutbread, it is up to the parents of Colorado's children to
supply their food and housing. Tough concept for you Lopp. I will
not willingly provide one f***ing dime for the screaming puking
progeny of anybody I don't even know. You know what happens when
I do you f***ing numbnuts? They start dropping squalling brats
left and right and coming to me with the bills!!! Does the term
unwed-teen-mother mean anything to you. It's exactly why the
people have risen up in outrage demanding the end of welfare and
here you are on your soapbox demanding the same f***ing s***.
Who gets to define an adult's basic needs? I'll just bet that Mr.
Dan Lopp is right at the top of the list. Big surprise. You
power hungry jerks are always the first to demand all kinds of
humanitarian kindnesses for the masses out of the goodness of
your huge hearts and in the untold suffering that results from
your idiotic programs who do we find in the middle of the graft
and corruption and running the immense new bureaucracies but
you and your family and cronies. Why don't you get a real job
and keep your big f***ing nose out of other peoples' business.
2. Requiring recipients to work only when they are truly ready.
Parents must not be required to work at the expense of the well-
being and safety of their children etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
etc. etc. blah blah etc. blah yakety blah blah yak yak yak.
According to this ridiculous manifesto, all anybody would have to
do to never work a day in their life is to simply keep on having
children. Sound familiar? No way could this create a cycle of
dependancy... Apparently Lopp just hates the idea of anybody
working ever unless they are able to live in palatial splendor
feasting like gods for any labor they must be demeaned to perform.
I have met many people in my life who I would not pay 2 cents to
shovel s***. These are totally worthless venal rotten people.
Why don't you hire them Lopp. I have a feeling you would all
get along well. You could all sit around complaining what a
rotten unfair world it is, f***ing and producing snot-nosed little
brats to suck the lifeblood from my kids just as you would like
to suck mine from me today.
3. Giving recipients the opportunity to progress toward long-term
self-sufficiency.
(you f***in moron. This is America. Everybody already has this
opportunity).
Required work activities should emphasize education and training
that give recipients a chance to better their situation rather than
be in dead-end jobs that leave them mired in the cycle of poverty.
How 'bout this - Required work activities are find work or starve.
I think your dead-end jobs would look pretty damn appealing with
that choice. That old dead-end job might even inspire the
"recipient" to go out and get some education and training on their
own without Mr. Lopp's or the Government's help. Yeah, I heard
it happened once. I think it was down in the United States
somewhere.
4. Treating recipients fairly and respectfully throughout the state.
blah blah socialist blather blah minimum benefit levels etc. blah
uniform statewide but flexible and different blah blah recipients
must be included in the design yeah right you f***in yahoo progress
encouraged by rewards sure you pavlovian mother lover does that
s*** work on you or only the lower strata of human being who you
seek to elevate and incentives that strengthen the family as if
you know how to strengthen families please share your wisdom oh
great one since you are surely the only person in history who
knows how a government program can strengthen a family since it
is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! Only a family can strengthen a family
and only then if the f***in government stays the hell out of it.
5. Not ignoring the needs or worsening the plight of the working poor.
Adequate jobs must be created and adequate child care, health care,
housing and other support services must be available to all low
income families.
This last has to be the joker of the deck. Does this ostrich
headed Little-Nemo-in-dreamland through-the-looking-glass sieg-
hieling s***-eating dictator think that there are hundreds of
thousands of jobs out there that we are just hiding from these
poor people from sheer meanness? What the f*** does he mean that
jobs must be created? How are jobs created? When his beloved
recipients go out and get some jobs, even demeaning, dead-end,
"cannot survive with dignity" jobs. then and only then will jobs
be created. When his recipients cease to suck the lifeblood from
the producers of jobs, then more jobs will be created. When a
government program creates jobs that is when work loses it's
dignity. For Christ's sake, there are already about a trillion
more government jobs right now than we need. And why should low-
income families get all this stuff for free that those of us who
bust our butts have to pay through the nose for. And naturally
when it goes for free to a bunch of Lopp's losers, the price will
have to go up for those of us who pay.

All Lopp's suggestions for welfare reform increase, expand and
exacerbate the exact things that were wrong with the welfare system
that we just rejected, the one that was a complete failure, the one
that saddled the producers and workers of this country with absurd
levels of taxation to finance the societal decay that has plagued our
lives for the past 30 years. This is a dangerous man.

I can't help but notice the ultimatum-like quality of Lopp's treatise.
All his demands are preceded by the word "MUST". The government is me
and you. Who is this mushroom standing out there screaming what we
"must" do. He and his socialist ilk "must" be either ignored or else
we should just approach them whenever they peek their screaming little
pinheads into the light and pound the living s*** out of them.

emphasize humanity). In his manifesto, he demands that welfare
reform not only replace all the mistakes that were removed from
the welfare we had but increase and expand all that was wrong with it.

It is interesting that he was able to round up 200 people to whine their
demands of how and what type of goodies should be handed out to them
for free by the taxpayers of Colorado and the United States.
Where were the rest of the people of the State of Colorado
while these 200 were screaming out their pathetic little demands?
They were at work to make the money that Lopp's constituents live off
of. These are the people the Colorado General Assembly should heed.
What? We weren't there? We didn't march around with signs spouting
our point of view? Is that what is required to pass legislation?
I believe we carried our signs at the polling places in November.
I pray that Lopp and his tiny cadre are totally ignored. The free-
loading socialists have had their chance at the polls and they lost.
If they rally 200 or 200,000, they should still be totally ignored if
not laughed at and made fun of by those attempting to effect real
reform.

Editor,
Isn't it time to get rid of this ridiculous death penalty we have
here in the U.S? The best reasons for ending it will surely please
the "life is sacred" as well as the "eye for an eye" crowds. Then
we can put this stupid debate behind us and never again be forced
to watch some idiot politico push the voter hot-button on this issue
by pretending to be "tough on crime" or "sensitive and pro-life."

The reasons to end the death penalty are simple. Our executive,
legislative, and judicial branches make The Three Stooges look
like models of wisdom and competence. All they do is run in frenzied
circles pushing their own personal or partisan agendas while we
watch in horror hoping that some recognizable semblance of what
started out as the Constitution of the United States will remain.

Have you or anybody you know ever been railroaded by this justice
system we have today? There are no longer any laws. Just the
final interpretation by some jughead judge with his own
personal wacko belief of what the law should be. The President
regularly creates sweeping new laws with a penstroke that do not
even pretend to pay lip service to the Constitution. Do you want
yours or a fellow citizen's life to depend on the vagaries of such
transitory, politically motivated actions?

Then there is the good old enforcement folks. Can you read your
newspaper every day and then depend on these clowns to honestly
present evidence to a court of law that will determine whether
a fellow citizen will live or die?

Finally we have the media. There is no such thing as
investigative reporting. There is only circulation, ratings
and their obvious political or idealogical sympathies.
Do you think a miscarriage of justice will be exposed by these
folks?

Add to these human failings the cost of pursuing the death penalty
through the appeals for 20 years and I don't see how we can continue
this absurdity another day.

Don't get me wrong on this issue. I would get tremendous enjoyment
watching and even participating in the long slow torture and
dismemberment of some of the low-life scum we have on death row and
even running around loose. My problem is in believing that our system
has captured the actual perpetrators. Besides, a system that has
adopted this stupid drug war that has filled up our prisons is
obviously lacking in the judgement necessary to determine what
crimes are deserving of the death penalty.

Life and death decisions simply cannot be entrusted to the morons and
ethically challenged officials responsible for dispensing justice in
America.

Editor,
I realize that most laws are put in place for only two reasons:
to enrich lawyers and to create brand new, totally unnecessary
bureaucratic jobs for the lazy, unskilled, worthless friends and
relatives of the politically connected. Against such powerful
adversaries, my protests are just spit in the wind but here goes
anyway.

Is there any pretense of a purpose behind the stupid SR22 law that
punishes former drunk drivers by forcing them to drive illegally
forever after.

How many jail cells are occupied by these tortured souls who would
otherwise be leading productive normal lives except for their inability
to come up with a thousand dollars a year to go into some judge's
Swiss bank account.

You can't have 90 percent of the jobs out there unless you are able
to drive and of course you can't come up with this ridiculous amount
of payola without a job.

After the jail time, alcohol classes, court costs and lawyers fees,
you would think a person would be ready to get out there and rejoin
society. But, no, someone hasn't been paid off yet. Don't these
greedy, grubbing weasels realize that you can't get graft from the
destitute. If it was possible for these people to drive again,
they would be able to go back to work and maybe even make another
mistake and the money would again flow. But as it is today, all
that is accomplished is to put them back in a cell where they will
be doing no one any good.

The hysteria over drunken driving has pushed this society into the
cartoon pages. For every life taken by a drunk driver, the lives of
10,000 people who never harmed a soul are destroyed by the greed,
graft and corruption that spawn such brazenly evil, criminal devices
as the SR22.

Romer threatens to veto any welfare reform that will not pay
additional benefits for those who bear additional children while
on welfare. I have two questions for the oh so caring and
compassionate governor.

Why does he think that the working people of this country should
subsidize and encourage the irresponsible breeding of welfare
babies by those who are already strecthing our tax dollars well
beyond a bearable limit?

How does it feel to stand up in front of the world and piss on

The best gutless wimps of 1995. These are the lamos who sacrifice
any chance of personal integrity, and help to perpetuate America's
evolution from a nation of proud individualists to a pale soggy
compost heap of frightened, bootlicking, sycophants by bowing to the
demands of some poor pewling whining victimized group that has
imagined some offense to their supersensitive little egos or to
their microscopic sense of self-respect.

03/31
Disney/Miramax
Miramax moved the release of the movie "Priest" from Good Friday at
the outraged icon-rattling of some group of catholic activists. They
say it paints an "invidious portrait" of clergymen. Hey, folks, hello,
it's a damn movie. Do these self-righteous little ***holes fear
that the reputation of their clergy is balanced on such a precarious
perch that the portrayal of a priest in a movie will cause mass de-
fection from their monolithic, centuries old, little con game? I
suppose when your empire is built on smoke and mirrors, it is natural
to quake in fear at the masters of illusion in Hollywood.

04/04
Denny's
Some dark-skinned customers weren't seated in the order in which they
had arrived. To placate the outraged dark-skinned community, Denny's
agreed to actively seek out a dark-skinned person to own one of their
franchises. In a normal day and age, an attempt would be made to find
out what happened. Then, either a lousy employee would have been de-
servedly fired, or disturbance charges would have been pressed against
the unruly customers. Although it's possible that the employee who
was responsible for seating people was himself a member of a pewling
whining victims group in which case it would, of course, be impossible
to fire him or her. Well, I guess we'll see one of Wellington Webb's
relatives running a Denny's pretty soon. Or maybe King Harris.

More to come.....I'm afraid.

11/95
King Soopers
King Soopers in Colorado Springs stopped stocking Rolling Stone
magazine because one person came in and said he represented a
Christian group and found the cover offensive. I guess it didn't
bother this ***hole that King Soopers has an entire rack in their
book section dedicated to Christian literature. And by the way, is
this what a Christian is? Some motherf***in busybody who thinks
his own sick little hangups about the human body should be the basis
for the selection of goods in a store that is patronized by every
member of the community?
Now for the real weenie of the story. It has to be the manager of the
store who took it upon himself to censor his magazine display out of
abject cringing fear of some pushy, oddball, fringe cult. The story
in the paper never mentions who made this wimp decision but credit
for reversing it goes to Dave Savage, a King Soopers vice president
who had this fine rag returned to the shelves.
When confronted by these weirdos, why can't people in responsible
positions just say 'If you don't like it, go get f***ed ***hole."

12/95
Albertson's
Same as above to Albertson's. They kicked the Salvation Army bell-
ringers away from their stores because the bells might offend some
groups.
Why doesn't the store tell these groups who are offended by all manner
of ordinary things around them to seek professional help rather than
bow to the multitude of flaws in their pathetic little minds.
Albertson's is the weenie in this one. They should just tell the
anti-bellums to get a f***in life!

Banana Republic
The Banana Republic chain turns out to be yellow. They dropped
advertising featuring Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell because some
tree hugging wacko who is a law professor no less doesn't like the
way Nighthorse Campbell has voted on some supposed environmental issues.
Why does this huge successful chain give a s*** what this ***hole at
George Washington University thinks. Did they even consider the
issues that Nighthorse Campbell voted on? Oil drilling in Alaska has
not affected wildlife in any way. It also helps to delay the day
when we will need to bow down to a bunch of scumbag Islamic dictator-
ships for our oil needs. And why should the government fund wolf
reintroduction programs? I'm sure there is enough private interest in
this awesome project to procure plenty of funding. This jerk thinks
all of us should fork out our dough for his little pet projects.
Banana Republic should have said f*** you you little s***. Instead
they took a position that they're so ashamed of that they won't even
say why they dropped the ads. Does it occur to these limp noodles
in human flesh that in a useless effort to appease an unappeaseable
tiny group of nutcases they have lost all credibilty to the millions
of normal people who might have shopped at their stores.

Some indian tribes are offended by the name Devils Tower. It seems this
is some kind of holy site to their religion. So the superintendant
of the monument, one Deborah Liggett, is considering renaming it.
Such a sensitive and caring ***hole. I wonder if she realizes that
the monument belongs to all Americans most of whom like the name as
it is. she must have let the title of superintendant go to her
culturally diverse little pinhead. The Indians owned this whole country
once. Why not let them go around and pick new names for everything
you f***in idiot. What if ten of my friends and I decided her butt
was a sacred site and wanted to give it a holey name. Well we wouldn't
qualify as a current liberally beloved victims group so our concerns
wouldn't be worth the s*** that comes out of her sacred little ***hole.

What has happened to this country that every weirdo, wacko and nutcase
that comes into view is bowed down to, revered, listened to, and
obeyed as though they all hold the key to universal peace and
prosperity? It must have started when we started electing their kings
and queens to high political office.

Some elementary schools' recent actions reflect the paranoia inspired
by liberalism's non-sensical age of political correctness/every-
body's-a-victim-except-the-white-male-oppressor philosophy. A kiss
on the cheek becomes an outrageous act of sexual harrassment, a term
that didn't even exist 20 years ago and means any interaction
between a male and a female that is initiated by the male. Why
would this create paranoia?
A delightful twist has taken place
however. The girl who dispensed this foul concoction is of
one of the disadvantaged races (non-white). The school allowed
their paranoia over drugs to overshadow what should always be
the number one fear, the fear of showing disfavor in any way
toward a member of a federally protected victim's group. Now
they are being sued by the suspended girl for racial discrimination.
Ha ha. This proves that nobody can win in the new weenie world.
Oh, the parents of the 6 year-old kisser are also suing. Though
they don't have a prayer. The offender is a white male.

Editor,
Isn't it amazing that whenever a camera is trained on the police, it
just happens to catch them beating the crap out of someone? Hellllooo.
This is SOP for the pigs. Unless you are a demonstrably rich individual,
any dealing with these armed thugs will always result in, at the very
least, a trampling of any civil rights and in most cases a physical
beating. With the proliferation of small portable video recorders,
perhaps we will soon see the glorious day when the courtrooms are
filled with the men-in-blue not as the present day lying scumbags
destroying the lives of innocent civilians with the assistance of
lying DAs and bought-and-paid-for judges but as the defendants for
their egregious crimes that they so rightfully deserve to be.

There is no sorrow in this entire story. A future lying beating pig
was killed, some piece of s*** car thief had his neck deservedly
broken and we can hope some more scumbag blue boys will lose all
that they have stolen in their slimy careers as a result of dealing
out this well-deserved punishment. It is all worthy of an ironic
deep from-the-heart bellylaugh.

Shirl,
This'll kill ya. The reason we didn't get money back since the time
we cancelled the SR22 is because of a basic difference in the way
insurance providers and insurance buyers look at insurance. Kathy
at Gary Dyer Farmer's Insurance thinks we buy insurance to be
covered in the event of an accident. Ha Ha. We of course know that
we are buying insurance to pay graft to judges, pigs and legislators
who are owned by lawyers and the big insurance companies. So when
I told her that you would just have to drive without a license she
thought that you would still want to be covered in case of an accident
and so didn't cancel the policy. Our attitude naturally is, if you
are going to drive illegally, why pay off the pigs in the first place.
So, I assumed that she would cancel and she assumed that you would
want to keep it. Sorry.

Donna Shalala worries what will happen in bad economic times if
40% of the reduction in welfare recipients is due to the current
strong economy. This may be impossible for the "government as parent"
mentality to conceive but there are entities called friends, family
and private charities that will easily, gladly, and EFFICIENTLY
help those who fall on hard times. This will be made even more
possible when her lousy government has stopped stealing from us.

It was agonizing to see those idiots try to insert their failed

Magistrate Spahn,
The reason I come to court unrepresented by counsel is because I
would rather slave 7 x 24 in the sweltering pits of hell and see
every dollar of my pay taken from me at the point of a gun,

than willingly give one single dime to the stinking vermin

Editor,
I have often wondered what it is that makes people parade out as
though hypnotized and purchase useless junk that they saw advertised
during some moronic sitcom. Why do people join together to riot and
destroy their own communities? What could possibly motivate a
person to break their comfortable daily routine to go out to the
polling place and put a criminal in charge of their country? Why
are Americans destroying America?

After riding on I-36 this weekend and seeing people actually parking
on the highway to see the air show rather than drive a mile to the
exit and parking in a parking lot I have ceased to wonder and have
instead come to a firm conclusion that will affect my thinking and
behavior toward my fellow human beings for as long as I live.
Most people are total idiots who, if they have the ability, never
really think at all, but just go along with the herd chewing on their
cud, spooking when others spook, mooing when others moo and rolling
in the mud when flies bite.

No longer will I write to the editor, try to talk common sense to
those I meet or pursue any activity that assumes the public cares
or is even aware of what takes place around them.

This country was created by a once-in-the-history-of-a-planet coming
together of a group of men who understood the venality and stupidity
of normal people and yet out of compassion for the poor dumb beasts
attempted to create a safe haven for them in the form of a
government that they could tinker with but never really change or
destroy. The government would have built in protections so the
lowing cattle would have a relatively trouble free existence as long as
the government existed.

Even these great men knew that their concept of "cattle governing
cattle" could not last forever. Even the finest ideal must be
diluted, polluted, dirtied and muddied when placed in the care of
the vapid vacant-eyed lockstep paramecium-minded ordinary human
being.

You can actually see it happening right before our eyes today. As
each right that was provided by the Constitution is compromised
all other rights are more easily compromised. More and more quickly
the dream is being trampled by the unthinking cattle. Holes in the
fencing are left unrepaired, the calves squeeze through the openings
where they are devoured by predators while their parents stand
mooing mournfully with spittle covered grass hanging from their
slack jaws wondering why they are upset about something. Frenzied
attempts are made to repair the machine that has provided so well
for so long. Wrenches are swung with mighty strokes against the
settings that were never meant for adjustment. Sledghehammers are
wielded against mechanisms that are not understood and therefore
thought unnecessary. The finest machine ever assembled, that
would have run forever if left untouched, is doomed, trampled
underfoot by the mindless beasts for whom it was built.

The chair was used in 1928. Good for Mr. Hawkings. We must speak out

Hannity and Colmes,

The weeny whining smirking little criminology professor on your show
thinks police should just let fleeing suspects escape. What a f*****g
idiot. These college boys see all problems in the real world (where
they have probably never set foot) as black and white, simple solution,
equations. They have no clue to the notion of cause and effect.
Someone was killed by a high speed chase - therefore, forbid high
speed chases. So reasonable, so easy. What a maroon. The world is
a dangerous place, living is an adventure fraught with danger and
anytime we wake in the morning there is a chance that we may be
living our last day. What are the odds of an uninvolved person
being killed as a result of a police chase compared to being struck
by lightning or being the victim of an accident in their own home?
What is the trade-off in lives saved by forbidding high-speed
chases as opposed to lives lost by encouraging such flagrant public-
endangering practices as speeding away from a police stop.
How about lives lost as a result of the subsequent lack
of respect for the authority of law that is created when the police
are made impotent by the inane babbling of such men of social
conscience as your idiot professor. He repeated over and over that
most fleeing motorists are just scared children. Does he have
children? Was he ever a child? I was and I know who the nuts are
that initiate these chases. They are not scared. They just don't
give a damn about anything. When they get back among their peers
they are not sweating and shaking at their close escape. They are
laughing and drinking and spreading their disdain and lack of
respect for authority to other kids who never would have considered
running before, but now will.

The indirect costs of such a policy as that advocated by Professor
asshole cannot be measured the way injuries from high-speed chases
can. That makes it a very nice policy for those who wish to push
their crackpot agendas on everybody else. However, the indirect
costs always far outweigh any benefit. The indirect costs are the
subtle breakdown of society and civilization that everybody bemoans
and blames on TV, movies, music and drugs. The actual cause of
these problems are the stupid feel-good policies of these idiot
college boys.

It is the very foundation of civilization that those who break the
law will be pursued, captured and punished. When any one of
these three consequences are diminished, the stability of civilization
is also diminished. The professor and his ilk have hammered away
at the last two for years. Now that they have created the increase
in high-speed chases along with all other crimes by freeing captured
criminals and eliminating punishment they want to remove the ability
of police to even give chase.

I find it hard to believe that these people can possibly be so stupid.
It's easier to believe that the professor is in the employ of a foreign
government whose goal is to destroy America. Perhaps I should
readjust my assessment of the intelligence of the human animal
because it's ridiculous to presume that all Democrats and sociologists
are foreign agents.

Personally, if my regard for the Constitution were not so high (far
higher than that of the president or Congress) I would not mind if
those who initiate high-speed chases were pulled from the vehicle
and shot on the spot. I see no difference between speeding through
red lights at a hundred miles an hour and shooting randomly into a
crowd. To let either criminal stroll away because to attempt
apprehension may endanger the public is one of the stupidest concepts
yet put forth by these bleeding-heart morons.

Hannity and Colmes,

The weeny whining smirking little criminology professor on your show
thinks police should let fleeing suspects escape because of the
danger to the motoring public. I agree with him but for
totally different reasons. I believe that all power should
be taken from the police; the power to investigate, arrest, detain,
incarcerate or pursue suspects, until the US Constitution in reinstated.

We read in the paper about people having their homes, businesses,
motor vehicles, cash, bank accounts and any other asset that is
coveted by the authorities taken from them without even being
charged with a crime. The insurance companies, in league with
crooked legislators and judges are in the practice of gouging
drivers with usurious insurance rates in the name of "no fault"
insurance. This very term should send shudders of revulsion
through any responsible person. Think of the Swiss bank accounts
being built on this illegal taking.

The political correctness faction has taken all logic from the
driving/alcohol consumption issue. The slightest hint of alcohol
use while driving makes a person public enemy number one even if
that person has never had an accident, did nothing wrong to be stopped
and presents absolutely no danger to the public. That person's life
will be unalterably ruined and they have done nothing wrong. Do
you know what DUI lawyers charge? Then there are the worthless
alcohol rehab classes run by cronies of legislators and judges who
all line up for their kickbacks from the ridiculous prices for these
"classes." After the faultless driver has given thousands of dollars
to these criminals, they are still not satisfied. The criminal
insurance companies have not yet gotten their share. Ever hear
of the SR22.

Even if there is no hint of alcohol use or anything else amiss, your
chances of the pigs beating the crap out of you just for fun is damn
high. Especially if you are just a normal person without the resources
to hire an expensive attorney. The pigs have an amazing ability to
smell this weakness on any person who happens to fall into their
filthy hands.

Until the Constitution of the United States of America is once
again being used as the guideline for the law in this country, not
only should the ability of the police to give chase be removed, but
it is the duty of all citizens to attempt to evade and elude capture
by these terrorists by any means possible.

Pat Bowlen should take a course in basic economics. The issue of non-
participants (taxpayers, the city, or whomever) paying for a stadium
in Denver is simply the first glimmering of a fact of the marketplace
that will soon be experienced in all major league sports and cities.
The fact is that the players (or the owners by their bidding) have
priced themselves out of the market. Salaries have gotten so absurd
that ticket prices, merchandising, TV advertising revenues etc. etc.
can no longer pay the bills. So now, with their heads in the sand,
the owners come to the taxpayers to foot this stupid bill. When tax-
payers refuse to sponsor this ridiculous price spiral (as I hope we
Coloradoans will be the first to do), teams will go begging to other
cities. After awhile they will be laughed out of town after town and
sadly these sports as we know them today will meet their end.

Anyone who believes that there is no limit to what a person, no matter
how rare their skill, can be paid, is living in a strange dream world.

Editor,
the pathetic whining of Hispanic activists has reached an intolerable
level. Why does the Post continue to print these stories -
"DPS is 'guilty of racism,' says coalition of Hispanics." These should
be a feature in the back of the paper like the weather report:
"There will be a 100 % chance of Hispanic whining today especially
strong around the area of bilingual education. Those working in
or around affirmative action programs should also be prepared for minor
to medium levels of towel wringing with a chance of name calling.

Editor,
The Stallsworth sister's decision not to notify authorities about
finding two children wandering in the rain is an understandable
and reasonable one. Authority in the form of police and social
services has lost all claim to the trust of the community. It is
gratifying to see two people so young and yet so aware that the
real danger in this world comes from those to whom we are supposed
to entrust our lives and property.

Editor,
What kind of dream world is Matt Piercy living in (Good Neighbors,
Letters, Aug 8). I have found that the people who leave a dog out
barking in the yard all night are definitely NOT the type of people
to engage in a neighborly discussion. These are totally self-centered
idiots who aren't capable of discussing the weather with another
human being let alone working out a solution to a difficult problem.
All you will do by attempting communication with these trogladytes
is to alert their pea brains as to who the enemy is. Then, when
the police are called or their dog is poisoned, guess who starts
to get harrassing phone calls. Guess who wakes to find their car
trashed of their cat nailed to their door. It's the person who
tried to be a reasonable, good neighbor.

Editor,
I never gave much thought to the ravages and destruction caused by
drug use in America before but the government has wised me up.
It must be pretty darn awful if the measures needed to save a person
from himself require the state to separate him from his family, take
his home, his vehicles and his savings, and to set a rapist, murderer
or some other violent nutcase loose to free up a cell for this menace
to society.

If that doesn't convince you how dangerous this subversive activity is,
take a look at the billions of dollars spent, the federal agencies
created and the Constitutional rights suspended to combat this
threat to the American way of life. The hemp plant is illegal. Pot
must be really awful if we must outlaw any plant that even looks like
it.

Tune in to one of the cop shows on TV and note the time and effort
expended by our daring law enforcement folks rousting these illicit
participants at the expense of crimes that have real, hurting victims.
Have you ever been laughed at for expecting some kind of action from
the police when your house has been burglarized or when your car has
been stolen or your child is missing. Get real. There are people
out there snorting coke for God's sake. Burglary, grand theft auto;
these are mere property crimes. Your kid'll show up. And even
if she doesn't, would you want her to live in a world where
someone may be growing an herb right in the yard next door and maybe
even SELLING IT TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BUY IT!!!!

I'm still not gut-sure what the danger is but if the same government
that gave us welfare, busing, affirmative action, social security,
the Miranda clause, the Brady Bill, Jesse Helms, the balanced budget
AND repealed the Bill of Rights is this alarmed, that's good enough
for me.

Editor,
Jan Lane writes about sex education programs and argues in favor of her
own personal view of how the nations children should be advised,
(Letters, Aug 12, "Teaching abstinence makes more sense"). She is
"suspicious of the motives of people speaking out so adamantly against
abstinence programs." She wonders, "Are they really concerned about
the present and future health of my teenager?" The answer is that not
one single solitary person or group pushing any program that advances
any moral stance cares the least bit about the health or welfare of
anybody. All they are concerned with is personal power over the
lives of their fellows.

Picture your child dead. Is there anybody on Earth who would shed
the tears that you would shed? Is there anybody who would experience
1/100th of the grief that you would feel? Would Bill Clinton, the
Republican party or People for the American Way live with an endless
empty chasm in their hearts for the rest of their days? How can you
possibly believe for an instant that anybody but youself cares enough
for your child to instruct her in the way to live her life? How can
you for an instant consider abdicating this duty to others?

The founders of this country firmly, again and again, before and after
the writing of the documents upon which this nation is based, rejected
the notion that government has any business in the moral lives of the
citizens. They lived in times when they were able to view first hand
the disasterous results of such government interference and they very
specifically forbade it in our government. The fact is that the
advocation by government of ANY attitude toward sex is illegal.

Ignore all moral preaching from schools and government and teach your
children to do the same. It is up to you to impress a moral code on
your children by your words, example and choice of church or lack of
any of these. Nobody and nothing can have a fraction of the influence
on your children that you can. YOU ARE THEIR PARENTS.

Editor,
The letter from "Dr." David W. Harris is a riot. It has to be from
a reasonable tolerant person attempting to create a caricature of
a typical hate-filled homophobe. First he claims to take his moral
guidance from the Bible ("Homosexual behavior is defined as immoral
in both the old and new testaments"), and then, in the next paragraph
he twists and puts qualifications on direct quotes from Jesus Himself
("Judge not lest ye be judged" certainly shouldn't mean we shouldn't
judge and "Love thy neighbor as you love yourself" shouldn't be meant
to include neighbors we don't like). Finally we learn that this make-
believe person reads the Homosexual space in the Post's dating page
(obviously his hatred of homosexuals stems from some deep inner
knowledge that he himself is one).

Very good. I really enjoyed this one.

Bill Owens says Percentage of state budget for roads dropped from 11%
in 1980 to 6% in 1990.
Does that take into account the 3 billion over 13 years in additional
money? Is it still 6%?
Where did the 5% taken from roads go? It seems that roads should be at
least 10% of the government's duty to the people. Did it go to persecute
or apprehend citizens for illegal laws such as drugs or prostitution?
Did it go to Romer's off-shore accounts? Did it go to create and fund
some new counter-productive worthless bureaucracy? Some stupid ill-
conceived social program?
If the 3 billion is spread over 13 years, how can it be only in effect
for 5 years as Hock says?
What's wrong with having to reaffirm in 5 years. So they had to fight
to get it. You always have to fight for funding. That is as it should
be. If the interests competing for use of the people's money did not
have to fight and scrape for their share, then the people are giving
far too much. And anyway, if the money were easy to come by, you can
bet that just as fungus and mold will grow on leftover food, new
interests would be created eager to consume the hard-earned of the tax-
payer. And when government spends money foolishly, it does not go
out of business as you or I would. No, that consequence is transformed
in government dealings into pain for the governed, social programs
that create brand new, undreamed of social problems, unconstitutional
laws that create disrespect for the law and millions of gnawing little
regulations that chip away at democracy like an infestation of termites.
What is Hock's interest? Is he affiliated with highway construction,
asphalt companies or other profit potential interests?

Quote from a prosecuting attorney (piece of shit asshole). Michael H.
Dettmer.
"federal, state and local authorities will aggressively investigate
and prosecute individuals who evidence any willingness to even consider
using guns and bombs to further violent beliefs".
Questions:
Why isn't he investigating and prosecuting ATF and the FBI?
What is a violent belief?
Is arresting and locking people up for ingesting an herb an act of
violence? If so, the police who use guns to further this activity
should all be investigated and prosecuted.
Is it now a crime to be willing to consider a criminal act? This goes
beyond being willing to commit a crime. It goes beyond considering
commiting a crime. It goes beyond both innocent activities by an
order of magnitude making it the shadowiest of shadowy offenses that
can now be added to the other thought crimes of intent to sell, intent
to distribute or intent to defraud. We can now add intent to intend.

Mike,
I like your left-to-right idealogy yardstick (what do you call it?).
Hearing President Clinton's name on it was a jarring shock though.
Do you really consider him to have a real belief system? I think of
him as a kind of chameleon wearing the color of a liberal at the
moment because a conservative must demonstrate real convictions.
Clinton finds it convenient to burrow down in the mushy squishy bog of
liberalism where no action is questioned and no results are sought
as long as one can demonstrate a sincere-seeming concern for the
awful plight of the human race. An excellent camoflage for a slimy
con-man while he pursues his one real quest, unearned wealth and power.
Where do you put a sociopath on a scale that measures where a
conscientious person will take a stand?

That was fun. Do you find contradiction and silliness in the fact that
a person is presumed to take a certain stand on a particular issue
depending on whether he is conservative or liberal. Liberals are
for abortion, conservatives are not. Conservatives are in favor
of the death penalty. Liberals want to turn criminals loose. I'm
a conservative but I'm against the death penalty. A morally bankrupt
government that has lost the support and confidence of its citizens
can not be allowed the power of the decision between life and death.
All drugs should be decriminalized, I don't care what a woman does with
the baby she is carrying. I believe welfare is criminal, that most of
the problems we have left in our society today can not be fixed except
those caused by fix attempts. Most of the rules governing interactions
between members of society were hashed out and settled thousands of
years ago and require no second-guessing by today's oh so enlightened
elites. Prison is punishment. Rehabilitation can be left to an
individual's own self-interest. So can most problems that the
current foul stinking government-as-parent feels it must address with
it's useless programs.

So, where do I go on the scale. I listened to a man picking his spot
on your show the other day. He said he must be about where you are
because he agrees with you on most things. It's beyond me. I think
maybe if such a scale were a sphere with the exact center being, not
center, but correct? perfect? Anyway, that's where I would be of
course and all the diverse shadings of left, right, conservative,
liberal, papal, theocratic, mammarian, vegetarian, rastafarian etc.
would wind and wend out from the center in pretty much random lines,
rays, fans, splotches and mobs.

It may be a mistake to place people on a linear scale from 1 to 10.
I'm sure it's meaningless.

Your show is the best.

Editor,
Governmental forays outside constitutional protections in order to
prevent adult citizens from engaging in activities considered 'bad'
by our fearless leaders always result in the lamest absurdities.

Look at the results of the prohibition of marijuana use. Here's a
weed that grows wild anywhere in this country, yet if it is found
growing on your property, you could lose your home. You can actually
break the law by picking a plant, sticking it in a pipe and smoking
it. An extremely useful gift of nature, the hemp plant, is forbidden.
Why?, Because it looks like a prohibited plant. Now it is illegal to
grow a particular crop for no other reason than it's resemblance to
pot.

10/03/97
Editor,
If government feels a need to make a common weed illegal, then it
should be the government's burben to prove the presence of the
proscribed weed. To sweepingly outlaw a persons ability to raise
an extremely useful cash crop just because it looks like the
prohibited plant demonstrates the stupidity of the government position
on marijuana. If government agents believe someone is cultivating
a crop for the prohibited market, then they should be required to go
before a judge, present probable cause for their belief, obtain a search
warrant and then prove the existence of THC in the plants that are
being grown.

Will it prohibitively consume agents' resources obtaining millions
of warrants and testing millions of plants? Good. It wasn't the
citizens of this country that decided on this idiotic course, it was
millionaire paper magnates and their bought-and-paid-for politicians
who found it neccesary to make a plant an outlaw.

Any windfall automatically belongs to the government. The real irony
in the finding of 4.5 million by a private citizen is the government
claim that it belongs to the taxpayers. Will the government distribute
the money evenly amongst the taxpayers? Of course not. It will be
used to continue the illegal drug war against the citizens of the
United States by supplying nice new Mercedes to the criminal drug
agents.

Aren't you fed up with organized religion claiming to be the keeper and
protector of humanity's morals. It's positively disgusting to watch
these leeches enrich themselves on the fear and ignorance of the
stupidest of the race by claiming ownership of the finest qualities
that every human being is born with.

If we were born to selfishness and evil, do you think all the various
churches, with their obvious phony scare tactics of hell and
brimstone, could singlehandedly reign in all the billions of people on
Earth to cooperate to create the mostly harmonious world we enjoy today?
Bullshit.

Every single church and religion on this planet is a liar and con-artist
and every churchgoer is a stupid sucker. All that the church claims to
teach and instill in it's members can be found in the simplest tribe of
monkeys. No social animal can exist without instinctual cooperation
with the other members of it's tribe.

While scumbag, sleazeball, liar and thief Bill Clinton stomps through
South America embarassing the United States with his existence and
pushing his ideas of trade (kickbacks for Bill Clinton) his pet
attorney general is attacking one of our most successful companies on
totally spurious and bogus grounds for the sole purpose of distracting
attention from her boss' own illegal activities.

How far can this administration go? How absurd can the atrocities
practiced by these criminals be before their supporters must just
leap up from their tables and barf up all the rich manna they have
been fed by these spoilers.

How I long to see these bastards behind bars. Bill, Hillary, Al Gore
and Reno. They should not be allowed to breathe the same air as the
law abiding citizens of the United States. Those conscienceless
carpetbaggers who voted this slime into office should simply be shunned
in all business dealings and personal relationships. Of course they
will never admit to it.

all tax increases are evil. the money is invariably used to create
programs which, by definition, are destructive to all that represents
freedom in a free country.

why is there concern that terrorists will acquire a nuclear device. It

Dan Caplis,
I have never written to a radio station before. I just think this is
too important to pass. You are wrong on the issue of anti-discrimi-
nation laws.

It is not the business of our government to shape cultural attitudes
through legislation. Disasterous results of this idiocy have only
been averted by the basic goodness of the human heart. Certainly
not through government blundering in this area.

To put opponents of your misguided beliefs into the same camp as
Halloween goblins is the height of 'enlightened', elitist, hypocrisy.

There is a group far scarier than goblins, ghouls and witches running
this country today. They are the life sucking vampires of the law
profession, the only ones who actually benefit from these stupid laws.
Only a lawyer could come up with the moronic notion of anti-discrim-
inatory laws for the ugly. That is a truly scary notion.

Old stuff becomes collectable. Take my comics for instance. You never
know when you buy one if, through some fad or trend, it will someday
be worth a fortune or just the relative quarter it originally cost.
I wonder if someday I'll be sorry for all the old software I've
copied over. Will the original DOS 1.1 floppies be passed around
reverently in a hundred years? Will the antique medium and coding
be installed in cracked, patched up and jury rigged drives and be
marvelled over as the precurser to the information age? Can't you
see a bunch of oddball collectors bidding on a copy of Pinnacle,
some system that was obsolete as soon as it was written, only two
copies in existence.....
