This other guy says "What a jerk, why did he have to lie? Nobody would have cared."

And I says something like: "You guys don't understand something very basic about this man, his beliefs and his philosophy.

Bill Clinton is a socialist in a Republic.. His entire life and the system of government that he believes in is hateful to lovers of freedom and therefore the persona he presents to America is based entirely on lies. He lied to avoid military service, then he lied to the American people about that. He lied about his affair with Gennifer Flowers to get elected. He lied about his drug use. He lied about his opponents. He said they wanted to pollute the Earth, starve children and put old people out on the streets. He is a conman, a cheat and a thief. He participated in the looting of the Madison Savings and Loan. He, with his wife, embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from trusting investors in two different real estate scams. These two thieves then stood side-by side in the '92 campaign and labeled the years when they were committing these crimes "The decade of greed" and blamed their honest opponents. These two consummate liars, slanderers and embezzlers were going to preside over "the most ethical administration ever." They looked in the mirror each morning, knowing that they represented everything that is loathsome to the American people and counter to the ideals that must be cherished if a free republic is to survive. Then they picked out the very worst they saw in themselves, and painted their opponents with this black brush. What unmitigated hypocrisy. You peel away the misrepresentation, the masks, the lies, the false front that these two have used to get elected, have used to gain the respect of the blind fools who supported and believed them and that are the foundation of their administration and there will be nothing there. Absolutely nothing. No substance, no values, no beliefs, no honor, no integrity. Nothing. Air.

In addition, this administration has been the biggest promoter ever of the society of doublespeak that was begun with Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty", which increased poverty and misery of every kind, right on through to "affirmative action" and "bilingual education" which claimed to give minorities "a level playing field" and which in actuality demeaned them and held them back from genuine earned achievement and respect. The society of lies where hard work is for fools and success is a badge of evil and must be punished. Where sloth, mediocrity, mendacity, addiction and envy are lofty virtues to be rewarded. Where the most egregious shortcomings are a sign of victimhood and should be applauded. Where responsibility for one's own actions is considered selfish egoism and the finding of faults in others is the solution to every problem. Where the misfortunes of a few, rather than being addressed compassionately and sensibly, should be propagated to all so that if one suffers all must suffer. Where public education is designed to keep students in ignorance. Where everybody is extremely insecure over social security. Where medicare and medicaid turn people away from the medical profession and diminish medical care for all. That is the socialist ideal where truth is lies, war is peace, strength is weakness, virtue is evil and evil is virtue. And Bill and Hillary Clinton, if they truly believe in anything, believe in socialism.

A huge edifice, a palace has been built on obfuscation, slight of hand, slander and lies. There is no solid foundation. There is not even solid earth under this hulking monolith. What effect would a single pure, true, honorable act have on this seemingly solid thing that is today's America and this presidency? The same effect that a single match would have in a dark dungeon filled with dry tinder. The same effect a bright, beautiful butterfly would have when alighting on a rickety house of filthy, marked cards. And how would those who have all to gain by perpetuating this monstrosity of darkness feel when confronted with such a thing as truth? They would feel the same way the Wicked Witch felt when drenched with purifying water; the way Hitler felt in his bunker. They would feel hatred and fear, the pure blind hatred that we all saw emanating from Bill Clinton when he addressed the people of this nation Monday night; the same mortal fear of annihilation expressed in his frantic plea to stop the investigation that threatens to unleash the horrifying light of truth.

And Bill Clinton is not alone in his world of lies. What of those who helped him craft his lies and who went along with his lies? Those who willingly and knowingly spread his lies to the American people via their "news shows" and “news”papers? Those who performed illegal acts on his behalf? All his advisors? His cabinet members? His wife? How would they feel if they suddenly saw their leader standing before the millions and telling the truth? They would feel betrayed. They would feel exposed and vulnerable. They would be shaken, uncertain and confused. Because, once something as fearsome and powerful, so all encompassing as the truth is let out of its cage, who knows where it will end? If he can tell the truth about his own crimes, what's to stop him from telling about the crimes of others? They may themselves, in an attempt to mitigate their own personal risk and culpability, attempt to tell the truth first before it is told against them. It would spread like a contagion. If Bill Clinton is going to admit to perjury, what's to prevent him from saying "Yeah, I tried to keep her quiet by having Jordan get her a job." Or "I asked Maggi to grab all of Vincent's files." If a person has so little honor and manhood that he will turn on his lover and smear her reputation and spread lies and slander about her to save himself, who in his nasty little world would feel safe to see their leader in lies unaccountably desert the foul fortress they all built together over so many years?

That is why Bill Clinton did not tell the truth. Sooner ask a worm to fly like an eagle. Ask a barren asteroid to illuminate the daytime sky or expect nectar to flow from a stone than look for truth to flow from this man's heart or mouth. It is not there. It is anathema to this man. He would sooner take his own life and destroy the life of all around him than forsake his lies.
