Leftist Church Leaders Agitate For Alms

The radical Left has insinuated itself into the leadership of many American churches.  There is a hilarious story on www.worldnetdaily.com today.  These Marxist church leaders are calling the Bush budget “unjust” based on the Lazarus story where the rich man goes to Hell and Lazarus, whose plight the rich man had ignored, goes to Heaven.

These commies say that, in order for the budget to be “just”, it must answer these questions to their satisfaction:

Is the budget compassionate?

Does the budget strive to serve the human family, both at home and around the world?

Does the budget serve the common good?

Who is to make these subjective judgments?  Well, like all good little commies, they are!  The only way to deliver compassion, service to man and to the common good is for the government to take this money, at the point of a gun, from the ones who earned it, hand it over to these wise and all-knowing men of God, to be distributed at their discretion!

It never occurs to them for one second that they may be wrong; that these lofty goals are better served by free men deciding on the best way to utilize their monies, abilities and compassion to better conditions in their communities and their nation.  Or, that, just perhaps, poverty is better diminished by a strong economy and overall increased living standard unburdened by confiscatory taxes.

It never occurs to them that they do not run this country.  It is run by all of the people, who choose their leaders and representatives, to make budgetary decisions.  But, of course, commie scum do not believe in the concepts of elections and self-government.  If they can’t get their slick little hands on tons of money to kick back to their politicians and support their pet Leftist causes, they will whine, and agitate and undermine the whole system until they bring it crashing down.

The Right Rev. Mark Hanson, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, “said the president's proposed cuts are to the very programs -- especially the net $45 billion cut to Medicaid -- that support many Lutheran social ministry organizations and the services they provide.”  Social ministry organizations?  Guess what type of organizations are, “social ministry.”  They’re LEFTIST!

The rich man in the Lazarus story was not a politician who didn’t have a satisfactorily Socialist budget.  He was an individual who turned his back on his less fortunate fellows.  If the government had come and taken his money and given it to Lazarus it would not have increased his chances for Heaven one iota!  In fact, if government left him with inadequate resources to become charitable if he were to become so inclined, they would have robbed him of his chance at salvation by this avenue.

Taking money at gunpoint to be distributed by politicians and their surrogates is not Christian charity!  These churchmen will not gain Heaven by directing the expenditure of someone else’s money, extracted by force.  It is only money, freely given by individuals, that bestows such virtue.
