July 31, 2008:
Today I received this email listing some qualifiers for
true Americanship. They are good as far as they go, but I
added a few of my own that definitely disqualify all libs.
Here is the original list followed by mine. Please feel free
to send me more at the address at the bottom.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, 'One nation,
under God.'
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in
public places.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You still say 'Christmas' instead of 'Winter Festival.'
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You bow your head when someone prays.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the
National Anthem.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You've never burned an American flag.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter
who is listening.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:
You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.
If you got this email from me, it is because I believe that you,
like me, have just enough TRUE AMERICAN in you to have the same
beliefs as those talked about in this email.
AND YOU ARE A TRUE AMERICAN, IF YOU THINK THE NATIONAL ANTHEM SHOULD
ONLY BE SUNG
IN ENGLISH.
Now Mine:
You are a true American if you
know that:
1. The only reason you imbue a contract with the qualities of being
"A living and breathing document" is if you plan to murder it
2. Celebration of diversity is condemnation of unity
3. Deviant sexual behavior is not a sacrament
4. The faults of America, trumpeted by her enemies, are only those
that are faults of all humanity
5. The faults of humanity are minimized by individual liberty and
Capitalism
6. There is no free lunch
7. Politicians are way
stupider than you, having as their only demonstrable talents whoring
for votes, lying and thieving
8. Any authority usurped
by government outside of that vested in the United States government
by the Constitution will be exercised by scoundrels
9. Such usurpation will
convert ordinary politicians into scoundrels
10. Your first issue in any
election is not "the economy", "crime", "global warming", or
"divisiveness", but "liberty"
